Google Panda BS Update - All Websites From an Adsense account penalized?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by petyard, May 11, 2011.

Has anyone noticed this? Almost all websites where I had the adsense code on where penalized and lost rankings, some lost 2-3 spots, some hundreds or even more.

Other websites, where I was using CB and not Adsense were not penalized yet.

Has anyone noticed this or is just a coincidence?

13% search results are changed due to Google Panda Updates. Canonical URL's and duplicate content have negative effects on search results.

I hear from SEOmoz that they're trying to reduce the rankings of the sites that have a lot of ads on them. The logical way to start is run the sites against their own databases to see who is using an excessive amount of ads. Are there a bunch of ads on your sites?

I use 2-3 blocks of Adsense, not sure what would be a "lot" of ads...

It depends on how much content you have. Based on what I've been reading recently, I think the search engines would look at the percentage of how much of your page consists of ads, not the number of ads. If I were them, I would start devaluing sites that exceeded a certain percentage of ads and/or a certain number of ad units.

Plenty of content, all unique. What annoys me the most is the fact that I rank lower for the same words but with different, totally unrelated pages...I noticed this symptom for all the websites penalized..

It doesn't make any sense. Why Google will penalize those who are using Adsense. If someone is using any wrong means for the panda then this is justified.

it doesn't but they are google..why are they closing adsense and adwords accounts and offer no support or chance to re-open your account? same logic applies there too..

it might have just been something with the way they calculated quality content. They can know their own ads are not content, so they can look at % of ads to real words. Other ad providers they may not be able to.

If you don’t have unique content to offer and have large number of ads , you will get penalized. But I don’t think Google penalize all adword sites. They will loose their income.

Whoa, that's a lot of account penalized. I wonder why. Maybe those sites considered low quality by Google?
