Is email marketing the best way to generate sales? Questions.

Hello, my name is Jack. I have been reading about and very interested in internet marketing on and off for a very long time. I've created several free sites, and one paid site which didn't earn me a lot of money but was a good learning experience.
I think my problem with that last site, was I was trying to make my money from adsense and freebie websites, without offering enough site, and not getting enough traffic to make a great amount from adsense.

This time around I plan on creating a site with lots of unique content in the pet niche helping people with their problems and promoting ebooks instead of trying to make a big bang with adsense. And slowly over time maybe moving to cj.com and expanding.

I have been reading countless hours the past week about different ways to make money online with a website, and the most interesting and probably most profitable sounding way seems to be internet marketing. Giving away something free for the reader and gaining their trust. Having them as a part of your email list. Then offering them soft sales and hard sales. If you have 2000 email subscribers and 0.5% convert to a sale, that's 100 sales for sending out a hard sale email. Maybe a little less, but that's still thousands of dollars to be made!

So I've got the idea down. Now my question is to you guys. Do any of you have successful newsletters or autoresponders with long mail lists that would like to share some words of advice? How do you find all that content? Or write all that content? How do you create a successful and helpful free newsletter and create 200 or so auto response emails?

The idea is to create enough emails for your auto responder to send out to your subscribers for a year. 1 a day for the first 7 days, one every couple days for the second week, one every few days for the third week etc. Once you have this, your main goal is to have a squeeze page to gain people on your email list, once you have all this set up, all your time can be put into promoting your site, getting traffic, and duplicating this idea.

Main question is, how do you create so much content? 200 emails + 20+ articles on your website is a lot.. do you just fight it out and spend months of time writing?

You may have heard that the money is in the list. That’s true and I’ll tell you a little trick I use to generate sales.

You tell people on your list that you’re giving away an eBook today. Have them go to your web site, pick a book and get back to you with their choice. When they reply just send them the download link.

This does 3 things.

First, it gets people to look around your store again when they’re trying to pick an eBook they want.

Second, while they’re at your site they’ll see your other products that they missed before because they weren’t as focused.

Third, they usually buy something and get the free eBook you promised.

I do this every couple of months and it always generates more sales the week that I do it. As far as content, use PLR. I just created a site with nothing but PLR.

You will have to get used to creating your own content so that the real you can come through but to begin and practice use PLR. If you need PLR products I have a ton. Just me an email and ask!

You seem to have the other stuff down about giving away stuff to generate the leads and collect email address. And again, use PLR to create your autoresponder content.

 

No I dont think so. You need affordable TARGETED TRAFFIC.

 

It is true that once you have a targeted list you can generate a lot of income with it. But there is a lot of work you need to do before you can even get to that point.

 

No, the best way to generate sales is SEO. Think about it, you have had killer newsletter, but no one to read it. Where you can get sales?

I don't really like email marketing because it's spammy and most of the people don't really read it. SEO on the other hand can be automated and let's say when your site has 1000 unique visitors/day, with conversion ratio 1%, you'll get 10 sales. If the product price is $30, you'll get $300/day. 1000 unique visits/day is not so hard to achieve. This forum for example, has over 100000 unique visits/month.

 

I think that once you have a targeted list and establish a trustful relationship with your list it IS the best method.

 

If you go the Seo route would you want to get a sale that one time and never hear from them again.. or would you build a list and sell to them over and over again? Once you get them on that list you also need to develope a realtionship with that list..

 

I think it's a combination! How do you get a list? By getting a good promoted website with excellent SEO (no SEO, no organic traffic). The site has to be the basis for the sale. E-mail marketing is the follow up, nothing powerfull after that first sale then emailmarketing, but don't spam! It would be even better to segment you email list for example by first purchase, what was their first type of sale can you categorize on that and send them an offer they can't refuse that looks if it's made for them!
And don't forget the social media, expension of a social media list is much easier, but not as targeted!

I don't think so. If you're smart enough you can generate alot of money by targeting long tail keywords and that too by outsourcing people for SEO.

The best way to gain sales is to rank well naturally in the search engine or pay for PPC, you can't get a higher converting person than someone who is searching for what you offer

 

Email marketing is almost dead nowadays. Move on to something new and fresh. There is a lot of other ways to make money online.

I think Email markting is the best way to generate sales. If you have a large list of buyers that trust your opinion, all you have to do is send a simple e-mail, and you can make a killing.

Ofcourse, the catch here is having to build a decent sized list of buyers that trust you. But its totaly worth it.
