I don't know how many ebook authors there are out there like myself, but I have had some success on Amazon selling an ebook in their DTP format. Of course, my fantasy is to move up their rankings and end up as a bestseller! I am hoping that someone with some experience can explain how you get better ranked within Amazon's searches? I am currently in position 18 in a competitve keyword search on Amazon. How can I move up? Tagging didn't seem to help too much. How much do reviews help? I've just got two reviews right now. Or is the ranking all just sales per day? Any information or insight is much appreciated...
The problem is that I am in some very competitive niches. But I'm already the top of the 2nd page for my primary keyword combination. So question: do you think the number of reviews and the ranking of reviews matters that much?
Well, it doesn't look like there's that many ebook authors out there, but I just found one way to improve sales: drop the price. My ranking on Amazon increased dramatically when that happened, because my sales increases. If anyone has any other ideas, I'd appreciate it!
I definitely agree with Whisper9999, it's all about the sales. Keywords and SEO means nothing compared to how many is sold, on this list anyway.
And here's a question: is there any way to tell if someone bought my ebook through Amazon? What I'd like to do is incent people to buy on Kindle by having them show me a purchase number or something so that I can then give them another free ebook. Is there any way to do this? I can just keep lowering the price, but I'm already pretty low... Some good news: my strategy has worked somewhat as I am now on page 1.
