    I have heard that BOTW may be buying the ODP.

    If that is true, will those of us who have purchased BOTW links then find our links posted in the ODP as well?

    It was started a lot longer ago then april first...

    Like back in september 08! --> http://www.webpronews.com/rumor-dmoz-selling-to-botw-2008-09

    hehe.... yeah, likely the same folks that buy into the myths on the importance of the ODP, or the fallacies of the editors of DMOZ actually caring about the end user!

    Though, as an editor how would you actually have a clue what is happening behind closed doors of the AOL staff in charge of the project. After all, it's clear that the conversion to an updated system was pretty much a fail that is still ripe with errors... it does stand to reason they just want to wash their hands of the project now.

    ODP is owned by Netscape, I don't think they would have a reason to sell.

    This rumour has been going around for a while, BOTW is really not a financial sound or well run organisation, it will run ODP much worst that the current owners AOL do at the moment. I think ODP is a pointless dinosaur.

    Heh, that's an even older story! The ODP is now owned by AOL.

    I have lost all my hope of ever getting listed in dmoz since years ago. Is it any different now?

    Its worse, and getting lower with each year... the only hope is that their 2.0 will actually change more then webdesign.
