Can getting on the front page of DIGG cause an AdSense account to be banned?

    Hi

If a web page that has AdSense gets to the front page of DIGG & the daily traffic suddenly increases from less than a 100 visits to 1000s of visits result in getting banned from AdSense?

Please share whether it is against the AdSense terms or it is not.

Has this happened to anyone here?

    Many thanks.

No it's not adsense tos because I see lots of people who get 95% traffic from facebook and it near about 1000 visitor.
Just you don't click on your own ads

there is no tos for that, and they will never give you a direct reply to that. personally, i do not keep ads on sites and blogs that hit the front page on any social media, if am aware, i remove them. Social media works better if there is no ads on the page, that way the social boost is even more resulting in natural back links and more votes and subscribers... in sort, long term benefits.

Chances are slim that you will get banned due to a burst of traffic from digg, actually, you will be surprised that most of them will not even click your ads and will just ignore the ads completely... though, if i were you, i would have remove the ads... who wants to take any chances after all...

Thanks for that. I actually thought of something along the same lines of what you mentioned, which is to remove adsense from the specific page that's being promoted on DIGG, while leaving adsense on the other pages of the website.

No need to do that, it is fine to gain traffic from social bookmarking, as long as those traffic are not paid traffic or from those traffic exchange site, then it is fine

No it should not result in a ban.
I have had websites going from 0 visitors to over 40´000 with the help of StumbleUpOn and I wasn't banned for it.
As long as you don't break their T.O.S in any other way you should be fine.
