I have never made a penny with Amazon!

I have made money with several different affiliate programs, but have never made any money with the Amazon affiliate program. I would be interested to hear what other people's experience's are. Although I have never actually really pushed this program, I am still amazed that I have never earned any money at all from this program and yet other programs generate me an income. I would be interested to hear other people's experiences.

There is much product research required when it comes to picking and promoting Amazon products. I can understand why someone could be succesful with other affiliate programs but not Amazon.

Amazon itself is a money making and market research machine, they literally give you all the market data you need to promote their products. It's the elusive obvious, you don't see it, but...it's literally right in front of you.

The commission rates start off low around 4%, but soon increase based on the amount of sales you receive.

With the right system, the correct research, you can make a killing with Amazon.

I started making money from internet with Amazon, and still find it very easy to do. The low conversion rate is made up with the easy conversion - you don't need to presell, you just need to get people to Amazon, and Amazon will do all the selling for you.. often people are already bought when they click.

 

I have made some money with Amazon, you should try and sell higher priced items say £50 plus so your sale will generate more commission.

For one, their cookie only lasts 24 hrs. The commissions are low but you can make up for that in volume because everyone shops at Amazon. I've made money with it but it's not my primary choice for product promotion.

 

You can create a blog niche related to amazon products you want to promote, make it more spesific niche it better for result. for example you want to promote digital camera, just create a blog about photograpy and than create a category about digital camera or review.

 

It's a good site. I have earned a handsome earning from it. Please be patience and try to study the site first.

 

I just got started again with the Amazon affiliate program very recently, after not putting in much effort previously, and I am getting like a 10% conversion, although its a somewhat small data sample. I think you really need to be selling in high volume to make any significant money with them.

 

Making money with amazon is the simplest with huge promotional tools only thing is how you implement them.

I agree with that. Also, putting your affiliate links in product images work great.

 

Think you must have been doing something wrong chap, were you getting (a) any traffic to your site (b) clicks to Amazon via your links (c) were your links working correctly? although the commissions are low, people trust Amazon and the sales are usually pretty good, so maybe you were targeting the wrong products, with certain things people prefer to see before they buy, televisions for instance, I also find Amazon.com converts much better than the UK, mainly because Amazon UK is crap compared to Amazon.com.

 

I was thinking about trying to make money with amazon, is it better to be an affiliate or to actually try to sell directly from the site with a physical product?

 

I have had success using amazon to create niche stores. My recent success is with www.mywiishop.com.

I purchased the store from www.cesscripts.com and they set the whole thing up on my domain.

I'm just starting out promoting Amazon products and after doing a little bit of work just through yahoo answers I've had a little bit of success. Obviously yahoo answers won't be my main source of traffic as I am in the process of optimizing my site through backlinks and what not, but I'm excited for the potential of Amazon.
