Question about link building

Supposing I am targeting a keyword that barely has any competition, I am on page 2-5 on the SERPs, I start building backlinks and reach page 1. Can I stop building backlinks once I reach page 1? Would that look unnatural to the search engines? Do I have to continue link building for that keyword?

It's a continous process ... so you won't rank for years from now on without doing nothing ...of course you can build low numbers once reaching on first page ...

 

Of cos you need to continue building links. But you can move on to focus on other niches.

No, uncle G won't flagged you but don't be surprise if your site will vanish in the first page. Unless of course you have some "Base Links" or Quality Links pointing to your site..

If the keyword is important to you, I will say keep building link till your site become the authority for that keyword or key phrase

 

Eventually you will lose your rank. Link building is a constant process.

 

After coming to page one suppose you have stopped but what about others (your completer)? Will they stop too? They keep on working and one day they will beat you.

So if you want to be on top, you have to keep your work continued.

 

I usually stop building links when I am no 1 for a given keyword and then shift to focusing on other keywords.
Have bee working quite till now.

 

Of course you need to work continues and and consistent . So that you will remain on top of PR . If you just give up to do backlink, you maybe get kick out few month later if other backlink is more than you .
Unless your backlink is unreachable from others and you want focus on another keywords.

If you want to maintain rankings, always keep getting backlinks. I know has you take on more projects, this can become very tedious. If you own 10 or more sites, for example, you would have to work for hours everyday just to get a few links to each site. Most web site owners eventually outsource this task, so they can focus on more important tasks.

If you use link building methods like article submission, you may get links even after you stop link building. You may not need to build link at the same rate when you reach top ranking. Just build some links even after getting top rank.

 

No, never, not. Just you stop making backlinks, you will see decrease in your SERP. Create always quality backlink to stay on your positiion

Others will want to be on page 1 too and they won't stop till they are there too, if you stop, you will get bumped down as they keep going.

SEO is continuousness process, your SERP might drop if you stop doing SEO because our competitor are doing better than you after day to day.

 

Hey Luq, most of these people don't have sites on the front page. I can assure you of that because they think you need to keep building links. I've had sites ranked #1 for 18+ months with not additional link building and they stay there for a long time. When they drop to #2 or #3, you build more links to get them back up to #1. Don't waste your time building links to a keyword that is already #1.
