I was wondering what some of you think are the most searched terms for SEO services by the average business person(I want to focus on small businesses). I know what I would search for but I want an idea of what the average person would search for.
Just use the tool here at DP to get an idea of searches. http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/
I like and use that tool but as I said I know the terms I would search for but what are your thoughts about the terms a person would use who does not know anything about SEO. would their search terms be rankings, marketing, search engine ranking company... Most average small business people would probably not know the term "search engine Optimization". Does that make sense?
Thats what the tool does. type in "seo". Then it will give you a result of all the variations. You can keep building off of that.
I use "the last keyword tool" by themezoom. My husband taught me how to do research and he swears by it. A lot of times I will see him put his term in the Google Wonder Wheel and then pick terms from that to run in the last keyword tool. It gives you everything you need. The things my husband looks for in it is daily search volume competing pages cost per click clicks per day and LSI value for supporting keywords. It lists all info in a spreadsheet at once. Usually over 200 keywords at a time. Hope this helps.
Was going to be exactly my comment. How are you going to advise your clients what terms to be targetting if you don;t even know how to work out the target terms for yourself?
