Figuring out how to use anything new can be a bit frustrating at times for somebody just getting started with a new web technology. Discovering how to use Wordpress is certainly no different. When you consider the installation process, the need for additional plugins, and trying to understand the difference between a page and a post, figuring out how to use this blogging platform may seem overwhelming at first glance. This article will relieve your anxiety and show you just how easy Wordpress really is to use.

The very first obstacle you will face when getting started with Wordpress is how to install the thing. Your very first solution is to login into your web hosting account and see if you have an option called Fantastico. If so, you're good to go. Just click that icon, select Wordpress as your blogging preference, and fill out the form with your login information, blog name, and any other information that you are prompted for. This will take you a short moment to complete. When you're done, click the install button and voila... you have installed Wordpress. If Fantastico isn't available on your web hosting, go to the Wordpress site and follow their famous five minute installation instructions.

Learning how to use Wordpress plugins is a simple process as well. Begin by decompressing the zip file to your computer. After completing that, use your FTP program to upload the decompressed files to the plugins directory found in your Wordpress directory. Once your files have been uploaded, login to your Wordpress site and go to your plugins page. This link is available on the left side of admin panel. Find the plugins you would like to use and 'Activate' the plugins. Wordpress will do the rest.

Now that you're ready to create content, the last primary question you are likely to have is, what the heck is the difference between a page and a post? When trying to figure out if you should create a new page or new post, all you have to do is ask yourself a simple question. Is the page you want ever likely to change? If not, it's a page. If so, it's a post. An example of a page would be a 'Contact Us' or 'About Us' page. A post would be a piece of content you created that is related to your blog's topic.

Learning how to use Wordpress isn't that complicated at all. That's part of its mass appeal for both experienced web designers as well as new comers. The most difficult part of learning Wordpress is understanding the difference between posts and pages. Just remember that pages are typically pages like privacy policies, contact forms, and company or personal profiles.

Installing wordpress was never a pain. Simply log on to your Cpanel and use the presetup scripts under Softaculous or Fantastico to install wordpress with one clicks. Simply make sure you give custom table names and change the default factors like admin name installation folders etc for security.

    warm regards
