Auto Sitemap genorator?

Discussion in 'Google Sitemaps' started by LadyHoldem, Oct 20, 2006.

Where can I look for a free site map genorator, that will live in the shell of my site, without limitations and generate sitemaps automatically.. if the only option there is 'at the end of the rainbow' .. .where would i find a cheap option?

YOu could try this one :http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/
But maximum 500 pages will be indexed in sitemap..
You could pay a small fee and use the 'Unlimited Sitemap Generator'.
    It worth your money IMO.

Thanks :) Can't deal with the limit of 500 pages, so I will definately look into your second option :)

The only problem with these sites is that they create the sitemaps pretty slowly (especially if you have sites with 5000+ pages) so be aware of that :)

Why not simply try other sitemap generator products to see if they are faster? Or have more options? Such as setting how many simultaneous connections to use?

That said, if you are scanning e.g. a massive forum which uses lots of database etc, that will almost always take some time because of server/database slowness.

I don't really care how long the thing takes, so long as it lives in my website, and I don't have to remember to do it..

a sitemap will help the SE robots to crawl your site,

if you make a ROR site map and refer to it on your homepage, the robots will check that first and get much better results, and of course so will you ;-)

by the way, for google you need XML, for most others you need ROR or RSS

    h--p://www.auditmypc.com/free-sitemap-generator.asp

This is the tool I used today to create a site map for a site I am in the process of promoting and I was quite impressed. Check it out.

Ok, loving all the choices here :) thank you guys... I'd give ya some greenies, but appearntly I am over todays greenie giving limit...

BUT.. How do I use one of these inside my site.. I want to put it in the shell, and tell it to autmatically crawl, and then forget it exsists.. can I do that?

    Thanx :)
