I found a good ways to get backlinks and increase search engine position. Perhaps you would not believe but its true. I write 2 original articles about my site daily and post one article to ezinearticles and one article to articlebase. This has helped a lot. And I have found increase in serp with each article posted to these sites.

I have found with the Panda update that my ezinearticle links are no longer in my links when I look up my site in site explorer, only articlebase that is nofollow! Could it be that Google is now recognising nofollow? As the same results occur when I search google!

Days of eZine & articlebase are gone. Both will push you down only. Google considers it as content scrapping. I have seen many sites going down due to this eZine & articlebase content scrapping.

Nofollow links still help to increase a websites ranking position in Google, the "nofollow" attribute simply stops "page rank" from flowing through.

Nofollow still counts as a link/vote from a website, just without passing page rank (PR)

You would probably do more harm than good by doing this.

You can still get better SERP results with nofollow tags. They just don't count for as much in google/yahoo/bing's eyes.

ezine still counts as a good backlink, i posted one article last week, and now i am ranked on 2page for a good key word, so it works just fine.

If not 100%, then how much percent is true?

Even it is 10% true to you, then too you are wrong with your own information.

Missinformation carries only false information, it can't consists any percent of truth. :p

I think your eZine article is in Page 2, not your own site which got the backlink from eZine.

eZine articles help eZine itself in SERP, nothing else than this.

Ok, what's the consensus? Should I stop writing articles for these sites or not?

guest posts on established blogs are still one of the best ways to get a site indexed fast.

I don't think it really helps to post them on ezinearticles, especially after the "Panda-update"

Well, I think writing content on article's directory can help but also can hurt your ranking:

Google doesn't like duplicate content, so when it founds some, he only tries to show one of them when returning a query.

    1) Your site is not yet enough trustworthy in the eyes of google, then it will show the article directory'one.

    2) your site is thrustworthy and google will show your page and not the article directory one.

But since google Panda update, these kinds of site are loosing power, therefore the backlinks are loosing power too. It can really help you if lots of people are posting your article on their blog, BUT only if they keep the backlink to your original article (few people do, they change few things and pretend it's their own article).

However, I think using article's directory can help if you write original content to post, but you don't post it to your blog. You use the 2-3links allowed in the article to link back to other related article, and you use the author section to link back to your blog. If the article is well ranked, then you have few good backlinks from a high ranked page. You can even do some SEO for the article to push it in good position. People that read your article and find it interesting, will also follow the links and discover your website. So you gain good backlinks and referals at the same moment.

If you feel bad to write a good article to not promote it on your blog, then a good thing is to use it as a newsletter, so you add value to your newsletter as subscriber find orginal content on both your website and your newsletter.

    Cheers,
    nic
