I just want to know if a discount coupon released by Hostgator affiliate is available a limited period of time or it expires after few months after it was created by the affiliate? Also they have a rule in their TOS: "Commissions can be earned per each new client referred through the unique affiliate link. An existing customer, defined by any client who has had an existing account with us at anytime in the past, would not be eligible for a commission with the program." What do they want to say by this - that I, as an affiliate can not have a website hosted by Hostgator, or that the clients referred by me, must have not any present or past hosting account with Hostgator?
That means the new customers should not be past users of Hostgator. And regarding coupon. The one created by you stays forever. And its better to use your coupon as in this case you get the commission not matter the user came from any link.
Yep, HostGator coupon codes never expire. You can create your own coupon codes and delete them if necessary.
And a last question. I just created a 25% discount coupon. As far as I can see, Hostgator cheapest hosting plan is Hatchling, where you can buy a 3 years hosting service for a price of $3.96 x 36 = $142.56 The 25% discount will apply to this amount? Or this amount is already discounted (they have an official spring coupon of 20% as I can see on their website...) It means that my client will pay only 0.75 x $142.56 = $106.92 or not?
When someone orders the Hatchling plan of hostgator then their most valuable coupon code is already applied so they state the price as $3.96/ month for three years. So, the 25% (i.e 0.75 x $142.56 = $106.92 ) will not be applied.
