A couple of years later - some people will then start rumors about "Is Bin Laden really dead?" or something like that. Then again, I'm just glad that the prick is now dead.
His death should bring the new Taliban offensive to a grinding halt and show the world's mad men that they can run but they can never hide .
In that case they oughta have his head mounted and strategically placed over the hearth in the oval office. Itd make a nice conversation piece. The body they can just send to a farm to be used to feed the pigs. Ftr - the guy was probably responsible for the deaths of more Muslims than Americans. He wasn't someone to be looked up to... Just a thug leading thugs. His death is a nice way of closing an ugly chapter of history. Won't end all hostilities, but it'll take some wind outta al quedas sails. My congratulations to the US troops involved in the firefight that ended his career. A fit ending for him.
It's incredible that he was living in a mansion of Abbottabad deep inside Pakistan, faraway from Afghanistan. From wiki - Abbottabad is named after Major James Abbot of the British Indian Army and is home to the Pakistani Military Academy!
I'm loving it... watching the news and Americans are calibrating all over the country. This is a good day for us. =)
He must not have been doing to well in Pakistan if his death last week did not stir them up.....or will still see their reaction - tomorrow. The Afghan mission is complete.
Abbottabad is just 31 miles from the capital (Islamabad) and is home to many of the top retired Pakistani army officials. Osama could not have found a more hospitable abode.
CNN Reports: U.S. diplomatic facilities around the world were placed on high alert following the announcement of bin Laden's death, a senior U.S. official said, and the U.S. State Department should be sending out a new "worldwide caution" for Americans shortly. Some fear al Qaeda supporters may try to retaliate against U.S. citizens or U.S. institutions. Hundreds of people arrived at the White House late Sunday night and chanted, "USA! USA!" They then chanted, "Hey, hey, goodbye!" in reference to the demise of bin Laden and then spontaneously sang the national anthem.
It doesn't make any difference, Alqaeda had grown out of Osama years back. Only thing this will accomplish is more attacks on american assets in US and abroad out of spite. And I don't get why people are celebrating a death (which accomplishes nothing), its one thing to be happy and altogether another to "celebrate" with your wife and kids.
I just peeked in here, thought everyone would be talking about this... Obama's Speech:
The people all are celebrating : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Osama_bin_Laden#United_States_reactions
