depending on your budget. if your budget is low then go for SEO n if you can invest more to spend then go for SEM
You of course get slower results with SEO and you do with SEO. But good SEO will get you free traffic whereas you pay for each visitor in SEM
"All and all, the best marketing strategy is typically to go with PPC in the short term to get immediate traffic and analyze conversions. SEO should then be taken with a long term view in mind, so you can reap the benefits of free traffic later on."
SEO is a long term project to build up your site rank and traffic. But yeah you pretty much need both SEO and SEM to get on top of the game.
Many people confuse these two terms and use them interchangeably but there is a difference between SEO and SEM. Search engine optimization (SEO) is a component of search engine marketing (SEM). It is the act of optimizing a website for organic or natural search engine listings. Search engine optimization is one of the most cost-effective functions of a search engine marketing campaign, but it is only one element of SEM. Search engine marketing (SEM) is the act of marketing a website via search engines, whether by improving rank in organic or natural listings, paid or sponsored listings or a combination of both. A comprehensive search engine marketing campaign includes the following functions: * Search engine optimization * Search engine and directory submission management * Paid inclusion and trusted feed programs * Pay-for-placement management (includes pay-per-click) * Link popularity / reputation development
I think both are important. SEO for long term and SEM for short term but I wouldn't leave either of them out.
Dead on! Very thorough and informative answer. Indeed, one is part of the other. SEO can be worked separately but SEM is the "umbrella" term (so to speak) and can not be left out if you're in this game to win.
I think for promotion or marketing, SEO is the best as it has the vast in-which promotion or market of a product or service can be done while it might be specific or the limited under your budget
Nowhere will you take an online marketing class or read a marketing book where SEO is not discussed. What you do with SEO directly affects your marketing success online. Therefore, in my opinion, it is one in the same.
