Hi.. We have few clients coming from different countries like Canada, Belgium, Norway, etc and they want to rank high on google.ca , google.nl , etc, means the google domain in their country. So, what should be the SEo strategy for this and how to handle this ? Need the tips.
Just Submit your website into local directories and local search engine of that country and follow the Basic SEO Steps...
The most important thing, if you are promoting .com/.net/org or whatever domain internationally, would be to add your site to Google Webmaster Tools and set a target country to whatever country you are targeting. I did just that for one of mine .com sites targeting UK and I almost instantly started to rank better in Google UK. Next, get as many of .nl, .ca, or .co.uk or whatever your country is backlinks. The rest is normal SEO.
Hi Kendu, didnt realize about the power of the webmaster tools. I only joined that a while ago because I thought it could help with sitemaps apps, but then when I got a joomla site, i just got a specific joomla app for it. SO you think that getting links inside your country will have google rank you for that country more? Does the converse work then too? That is, while I have a dot com dot au site, most likely like some of yours, I post in many OS forums like this one, like you have. Does that mean that these links will be downgraded for us Aussies?
The link will not be downgraded. At the end of the day a link is a link. However the weight of .com.au link for Australia will be higher that .com as far as I am concerned. I reverse engineered some successful promotions in Australia. One in particular is dominating its niche in Australia with .com domain. Their strategy is to create a lot of Wordpress blogs on .com.au domains that contain their primary keyword as a part of the domain name. They post three to four articles and maybe YouTube video or two, link to the main site and move on to the next blog. Work like crazy for them on top of "normal" SEO.
try that to use classified posting which used to you targeted country...... I hope its will helps to get local searches.....
