I have recently switched from blogger to wordpress and I have been working on my site and was wondering if it is possible to have more adds on a page in addition to Google Adsense? I know you can have up to 3 ads on a page with adsense, though I was wondering if you could have anything from another form of click ads? If so, what are some adds that everyone would recommend.
you can use other ads from adbrite , clicksor etc too but make sure they differ with adsense ad color/text /link
you can use other ads also but be sure other ads r not in contextual.....because google r not allow to any one to use google adsence and another contextual ads in a single page...
Contextual means google bot reads your site contents and serves ads based on that content, i.e. in context of the subject displayed. This is supposed to mean that you earn more because the ads shown are relevant to the webpage contents, so visitors see what interests them and are more likely to click an ad. Any other ads used with adsense mustn't be confused with adsense ads, they must look different, it's part of adsense ToS. You might be able to use commision junction, certainly clickbank, and some others but if you want higher income you should consider selling ad space seperately, it could make more than other ad networks. If you have high traffic that shouldn't be a problem.
You could try posting on a webmaster forum advertising section, for instance: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=90 Give some idea of traffic volume and origin, people like details. Also site type too, to attract relevant advertisers, targeting will reap highest rewards.
I would suggest going to google and do a forums search that is related to your niche. You could contact some of the members of that forum and ask them if they would be interested at all in advertising on your site. You can let them know you are getting xx amount of visitors a day, month, etc. Just to give them an idea of what they are potentially going to get out of it. Matt Santi
So, I have 2 ads from Google Adsense on my site. Then I have 2 ads from Mog Music Network which is part of Commission Junction, and I have one ad from Adbright. What do I need to do to make sure that I am not violating any of the Adsense TOS? I just want to be careful and not take any risks with this. I only run 2 Google Ads because I am a YouTube Partner and occasionally I will make videos for the site, and I think 3 Ads is the max amount of ads.
Without seeing the site it's a bit hard to judge properly, you're welcome to PM me a url if you want, but I'll make a best guess on the info supplied here. I don't think any CJ type ads are going to break adsense ToS and if they're relevant to the site then it's another revenue stream. I use adsense with affiliate ads on some of my own sites without problems (so far). Google say that you can't use any 'look-a-like' ads, that is ones that could be mistaken for adsense, or have any full page interstitial or pop-up/under ads on the same page, so I would question your use of AdBrite. AdBrite can have interstitial ads, that is ones that cover the page content like a curtain until you click a 'no thanks' or 'skip ad' link, they ARE against adsense ToS but can be disabled in the publisher dashboard thingy. Also their earnings are very poor, I've used them myself, so you could do a lot better imho by losing AdBrite and having a third adsense placement for higher revenue. AdBrite are seen as mostly an adsense replacement network where adsense can't be used or after google closes your account. I used to use them on proxified pages (now banned) and a games site (now sold) but earnings were very poor indeed, about a tenth of adsense on a good day. Another thing is AdBrite ads were also slow to load so they made page loading times higher, not good for visitors. Some of the ads are pretty awful as well, they should have a "may cause seizers in people with photo sensitive epilepsy" warning, that might put off visitors too. Two more things you might want to consider are the google text link ads, max 3 per page, and a search box, the search box especially can earn a few more dollars and is worth doing if you have the page space. Make sure you have a privacy policy as well, that's a requirement for adsense now.
I accidentally enabled those full page ads and those text link ads at first, though I quickly removed them. I also added a privacy policy. Maybe I should remove the Adbright ads all together? I get a lot of traffic, though my earnings are quite low, so I think I am doing something wrong. I also sent you my url in a PM. I also seem to have plenty of room for more ads, or a google search box.
Thanks for the link, I've had a look and sent a more detailed PM reply. In summary though, and for the thread watchers, I'd have more pages with less content on each page. It reminded me of a MySpace page, there's lots of content all in one place and a long scroll to see it all. If you have less on a page then more pages, visitors will have to navigate to the content and be exposed to more ads, hopefully more click thru's and more income for you. Everything appeared to be on the index page, and for me it was a long load time too, spread out the content so people have to click different pages and maybe see different ads on each page. WP allows you to have a fixed index page, that might be worth doing, plus having a custom link thing enabled using %post% for SEO friendly urls too, that could help with serps rankings (and more visitors). You could try things one at a time to see what difference it makes, if you have a lot of visitors then results might show quite quickly. If something doesn't work then change it back, if it does work then keep it and do some more, it's all about trial and error until you find what works for you. There will be some errors of course but you'll learn from it and it'll probably be worth it in the end. But that's just my opinion and I'm no expert, only a seasoned surfer
