    I'm not aware of Adsense EVER being down. You'll probably want to check to see if your account has been shut down.

    I take it you haven't been around long then.. Adsense being down, whilst rare, does happen...

    I stand corrected, and next time I'll quantify my observations.....Since early 2009 I have never seen Adsense not serve ads.....

    No they never stop serving ads, but sometimes they are working on our accounts and so our accounts can show little or no earnings for a while...

    not to be a stickler, but the OP was saying his ads weren't showing, not that his earnings weren't showing....
