Because there are millions of people who like to think they know what they are talking about... and they don't..
Well I think its good to gather a lot of info on a particular issue, then one can sieve and identify facts.
An Example of Applying This Data to a Live Business Scenario Google Rankings Can Make or Break a Business Appreciating Google's Market Domination Establish a Baseline Keyword Value Typical Click Distribution Profiles Factors Modifying Click Distribution Tapping the Keyword Tail Improving Monetization via Scale Improve Your SEO Strategy Today Alexa Rating:- Are article submissions worth the time? When doing manual submissions it takes me 10 to 15 minutes in average to login, format and submit an article to an article directory. I have to make at least 10 submissions to get a feasible exposure for my articles. So this process can take more than two hours a day! To make the most of my time I have to make sure that the article directories I am submitting to, are able to bring me as many visitors and backlinks as possible. I can name top five directories: EzineArticles.com, Buzzle.com, GoArticles.com, ArticlesFactory.com and WebProNews.com. Submitting to these is a must! EzineArticles.com and Buzzle.com can bring you a lot of traffic, GoArticles.com brings you backlinks, and ArticlesFactory.com – PageRank (my profile page there now is PR5 – with only 12 submitted articles). But five top directories are not enough. As I said above, I usually do at least 10 manual submissions, so I have to choose my directories wisely. The only two ratings easily available to web users to judge the quality of websites and webpages are Alexa Rating and Google PageRank. Both are flawed and often do not reflect the real authority or traffic of a page. But since there is nothing better I have to stick to these two when deciding if a directory is worth submitting to. Of course, one must not forget the power of themed sites. Whenever I have a choice between a general directory and a directory focusing on my topic – I choose the latter.
Hi Page rank is very important to any website. This is the rank given by the Google. This rank will be given according to your site popularity. And if you have more back links , good quality content and nice look in your site. You will get good page rank from the google. And you can get good traffic to your site from google. And Alexa ranking is given by Alexa. It is an amazon company. Alexa will give the rank based on the popularity of your site. It will give rank locally and gloabally. Local in the sense, in which country the more visitors are coming. And global ranking is Global ranking all over the world. More over you see which are the highly targeted keywords to the site in Alexa.
Here's a thread where I explained the importance of Pagerank: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2164690 I also explained why so many people are confused about it and think it's not important. Alexa is a 3rd-party tool that attempts to estimate the traffic levels sites receive. Alexa ranking has no impact on your ability to rank in Google (or any other search engine). It is good for bragging rights. When buying a site, never rely on Alexa ranking. Always request actual traffic stats.
You're not clear on PR? Let me clear you up... One of my sites was PR3 with about 10-12 uniques/day Then, it went PR2 and that since that day, it had 80-90 uniques/day It is now PR1 and now generates 300-340 uniques/day I can't wait to get PR0 to get thousands of uniques...
Take a look over here to see what PR is: http://pr.efactory.de/ Google used to use PR as a ranking factor, but they stopped with it/there are many more important factors that determine your PR. Why people still care about it: You can sell links for high prices on high PR websites.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahaha, ah man, this is one of the funniest threads to read through, then that comment, hahahahahahahahaha But yeah, best way to increase your PR is to make 5 adsense accounts then do as higher living says and get blacklinks. Spam your link to your site everywhere. But spamming a link isn't like email spam, it's more like the spam you buy in a shop, yummy and beneficial for you. So anywhere you see a text box that allows you to enter text, type your domain name.
you are doing directory submission, social bookmarking, article submission, press release submission, forum submission, blog comment etc..
