how to get started w/ wordpress

Guys can anyone help me get strated with wordpress?

Basically to start off with wordpress, i would recommend you to purchase a shared web hosting account with any of the good web hosting companies and then install wordpress from fantastico or softaculous ( menu option in hosting control panel to install pre setup scripts like wordpress).

-Once installed, login to the wordpress admin panel and install some good theme of your choice
-Add pages and categories
-Add the basic required plugins
-Add few posts and publicize them

fantastico is a great tool you can use it to really improve your development efficiency just get a license and your good to go. One click and wordpress is installed

 

I think installing wp script on your local host is best option.

 

It will help in working faster and you can change your script locally, if you are using windows system simply install wamp server then download wordpress script unzip it and put it in you root directry which will c/wamp/www/put it in this foleder.
then click on your wamp; click on start all services and then click run local host after that select your folder of wp script and after that install it.
befor installing also create a database for in phpmyadmin.

 

That I think is a better idea to start off instead of buying hosting. I guess josh agrees to this point as well.

 

First I tested wordpress was on the localhost.I would reccomend you to install xampp on your machine and start testing the wordpress.
