Hi, I just started my new forum website . I had been submitting it to free directories and search engines for couple of days. But which ever tool I use (page rank, backlink checker or web info), it never shows any thing. I sometimes suspect that it is not even visible to other except if the type my url directly. Can someone please run this url in any tool really quick and check that if its me or some thing is wrong with my forums. Thanks
Ignore ALL these backling checking tools and just keep doing what you are doing, getting links in to your site. These backlink checkers are not reliable to any extent, they are frowned upon by Google and therefore Google do not disclose this information to them easily. Even Goole's own webmaster tools will not give you 100% accurate information, Google will even hide that from you in their own tools. Just get the links in, work hard on your site and it will all come to you in time.. be patient, these things don't happen overnight.
P.S.. Forums are the hardest things to get going, get visitors, get posters etc etc.. You have your work cut out
The other thing about the checkers is that they use search engine data which means those links you have been generating need to have been spidered and analysed and that takes time. Consider the cache of any given web page, they are (at best) days old. Therefore you can expect a lag between creating links and seeing them reflected in counts. Some will also be considered junk and will never turn up in your counts. Focus on your business plan and the tasks you need to fulfill - and look at your results in a systematic way. Looking daily for something that is part of a long term plan is pointless.
Thanks for the advice guys that really made me feel lil better. Actually the thing that freaked me out was all tools were showing 0 links and even the website stat checker simply said 'no data available'. But you guys are right, I should wait and jee its just two days ago when I submitted links feels like eternity Thanks
I use webmaster tools, it does not tell me if something is a dofollow link or not but I at least know Google cares about the link. Sometimes it is a little odd at showing links as well as any other backlink reporting though. Like others have said, focus more on creating the links than tracking them.
