Dear friends, I like to build an travel article directory. For example- Ground Transportation * Limousines * Shuttles * Taxis * Auto Rentals * Buses Financial Resources * Money Transfers * Travel Vouchers * Credit * Foreign Exchage * Insurance Travel Ammenities * Hospitals * Rest Areas * Handicapped These are taken from example php travel link directory database Where may I find categories and sub-categories like this for free? Thanks Monsur
You made a completely wrong step, Google hate duplicate content, and you want to use duplicate category structure? i recommend you to create a unique category structure, don't waste time to spam the web directory industry, it's enough for rubbish directories, please hep to build up a clean environment for the web.
For a travel directory, wouldn't it be better to have a category structure based more on location? For example...England>London>Ground Transportation Otherwise you would have a taxi service from London next to a service from New York next to one for Paris. I firmly agree with Wallace. If you want to make a viable business, go your own way. Look at what others are doing, pick and choose the good from them and then add your own ideas.
Thanks both of you for the valuable tips.In fact,I am looking for ready made categories to get an idea.I will edit them to make them unique.Category structure based on location is really a good idea. But my locality is not suitable enough to build a travel directory .Most importantly I like to build a travel article directory, not travel link directory.
Although it would be better to build your categories from scratch your approach would work as long as you don't wait too long to customize it.
You can purchase a Travel categories dump from this site: http://www.phpldtemplates.com/member-databases/
Most of the already existing directories already have a large database for a different variety of categories. But still if you don't find anything suitable even after browsing then you can always create your own category that best describes your site.
