White House Releases President Obama's Long Form Birth Certificate

He didn't want to up until this point because

1) It's an insult that he as the first black President of the United States was the first to be asked to show his long form birth certificate because the State of Hawaii certifying that he was born there and releasing his short form wasn't good enough. Had he been white, well, it probably would have been fine.

2) The people who believe the birther nonsense or have "doubts" are nutjobs. (apparently 45% of Republicans fit the bill) He knew that they would still find something to use to doubt him no matter whether he released it or not. You'll see that over the coming weeks, I guarantee it.

So there ya have it. Case not closed but at least the independents got to see the Republicans and Tea Party lift their skirt and show how crazy they are behind the curtain of "conservative values".

I liked his announcement speech today though. He basically told everyone to grow the hell up, we've got more important things to do.

I can't really argue that his leadership hasn't been lacking because I think it has been. But in a sea of crazy people he kind of looks like the only adult in the room right now.

I think he genuinely wants to move forward and tackle these big problems we have. If this was supposed to be his ace in the hole he would obviously have waited until much further into the election cycle to drop this bomb and show everyone how batshit the Tea Party controlled Republican party has become.

It would have catapulted him to victory just as easily as the economy under Bush did in 2008. Instead, he chose to do it now, when it's necessary so we can move forward with fixing this mess.

With the exceptions of the ad-hoc tribes of yelling morons that voted because of the skin color i don't see anything big . The main deal is that under him the US is sinking and it's sinking fast .
