i want to open a website and most of the domain that i have found are
    long word .com

so does this matter or if the domain contains the good keyword it should be fine?

    thanks,

What are you using it for and how long is long? As long as it is something easy to remember it shouldn't make a difference. I always think .com looks better but .net should be fine too.

Create a brand name. Stop building sites for search engines and start building sites for humans and you might just start getting somewhere.

to build brand however you need either a lot of money or time.

Of cause you can do what an increasing number of companies are doing and have both, then just 301 your brand domain to your SEO domain but keep everything to the brand name. The UK DIY chain store B&Q has done exactly that with the site actually being hosted on DIY.com (they did have the additional complexity of their name)

If you're going to be putting the domain name on the side of your vehicles, then having a fairly short one obviously helps, for SEO, a keyword rich one is important. Just search for 'van man London', say, and see how many of the top results have some or all of these words in the domain name!

Keywords in a domain are good, but I'd focus on finding a "brandable" domain, and the rest will fall into place when your site grows.

For SEO purposes having a good, targeted keyword in the domain name is important. It's also needs to be something that makes sense and is fairly easy to remember. If it's for an offline business, it's more important to have a catchy name. If this is for online purposes be creative with the order of the words (as long as it makes sense) and see how targeted the keywords are in that order. Reaching a super targeted audience of buyers is most important so if the phrase is a little long, so be it.

I think you can focus your main keyword in domain name. That will helps you to get search engine ranking easily on that particular keyword.

Using your targeting keyword in your domain is the best strategy from SEO point of view & helps a lot in better ranking of your site in SERPs. The domain you have chosen is good coz it is short in length as well as carrying your targeting keyword.

A short domain name is easy to remember by the visitors, so you can prefer short domain names but these days all short domains have already been registered. Therefore choose a keyword related to your niche and try to register a successful domain name related to your content.

Talking as an SEO guy, ya if your domain contains a keyword its an extra advantage..also keep it as short as possible...Coz ppl are lazy to type long urls..They type it in google to get the google suggest..If they get any other website with similar content they eventual land down there..So dont loose to your competitors choose a short, tricky, catchy domain...

well i try for days to come up with a shorter domain name, but nothing good come up in my head, but will still searching, for one ,till my site will go on live,is not ready yet.
also a " brand name" domain is any domain?,that does not have the keyword in it?,never deal with this before all the time i have created domains with the keyword in it.

    thanks,
