How do you do Squidoo?

I am not familiar with Squidoo, but learn somewhere that you can use it to drive traffic to your website. Is that true? Is it proper? Can someone who is familiar with Squidoo kindly explain the concept?

 

Squidoo is an interesting concept – sort-of a cross between an online encyclopedia and a social networking site. It works by letting users create “lenses”. You can create as many lenses as you want. But try to avoid behave like a spam. Squido Google love Squidoo pages, so if you operate in a category that is very competitive in terms of search traffic, then Squidoo can give you some ammunition and a roundabout way to get your site ranked in competitive markets.

 

Squidoo was popular with Google but I think it has lost some of its favor in recent months. They had a clear out of all the crappy lens that had piled up a while back and have been trying to clean up their image.

Still it is probably the Web 2.0 site that turns up most frequently in the serps. Take some time and put some decent content on your pages. And then get involved with the community there, commenting on other people's lens etc. Then you can still get some good traffic from them.

Be careful with niches like weight loss though. They are not too popular with admin unless they are really good.

 

Squidoo is great for generating income via any/all of their various affiliate modules. If several of your Squidoo pages (lenses) get into Tier 1 or 2 then you can make a tidy sum each month.

 

Squidoo is one of the websites that will rank very fast but if you don't build backlinks constantly, the competition will easily outrank your squidoo page.

 

I always create lens in Squidoo & these are really very helpful to prmote the site.

I didn't find squidoo to be extremely useful. I ranked ~800 in internet and 39,000 overall with no SEO or anything, but only got 1-2 hits a day from it.

Squidoo is like a huge websites where users (called lensmasters) create the pages (call lenses). Anyone can sign up and write a one page website on just about any subject. Squidoo is very user-friendly and you can create how many lenses you want. Squidoo pays you from the money they make from the ads displayed in your lens. It's a revenue sharing site which pays you 50% of they earn from the ads in your lens.

 

i'v use it ,and after google panda ,it may not very useful

 

Use it to build link juice for your site. Spread your backlinks across Squidoo, hubpages and other web 2.0 sites to make your backlinks look naturally.
