I installed a niche blog designed by PLRBoy and I cannot access the Dashboard using the admin log in details. I started by editing the wp-config.php and reinstalling a couple of times. I even tried changing the admin user name and password inside the database using the phpMyAdmin interface, which I was actually able to do. However, I get the following warning messages (see below) whenever I do manage to "log in". However, "logging in" never results in being able to actually access and use the dashboard. Please help! Or be so kind as to direct me to a previous post addressing this or a similar issue. Thanks for reading this post. Problem related to tubepress plugin so you need to disable that plugin and then check again IMO. DON.
hey deluxdon, thanks for giving this a shot. What you suggest may work. I'll try anything. But since I cannot access the dashboard to disable any of the plugins, would I delete the tubepress plugin via FTP or one the file managers in cPanel?
Ok then you can do it from phpmyadmin. maheshkukreja.com/disable-wordpress-plugins-through-phpmyadmin DON.
ok...thank you, deluxdon. I'll give that a try...1st thing in the morning! And I'll let you know how it goes!
Hey deluxdon, howzitgoin t'day? (hey everybody) i'm baa-a-a-aack. Mr. delux-d, the link you provided which led to an excellent tutorial about how to disable plugins if you cannot access admin was very good. Thanks a lot! Make a note, all ya'll. Just in case you get locked out of your admin someday. Anyhoo, I accessed the database via phpAdmin but I couldn't find any plugins! I even took a screenshot if anyone is interested. Now this is all weird to me 'cause I saw the plugins folder when I peaked through one of the file managers. Arghhhhh! Whaddaya think Mr. deluxdon? Wanna see the screen shot of the structure of the database. Anybody else? Although, I have to add that the tutorial deluxdon sent me to helped me to do a couple of the things I wanted to do once I got inside my admin. So, thanks a bunch for that! And just in case some of you don't know this: it's not only possible to disable the plugins when you're locked out of your admin (using phpAdmin). But you can also change most anything else from what I could tell. Neat! I'll be back to see if anyone thinks they can help me with this mess. Later. Z
Dear Mr. deluxdon and anyone who reads this thread, It worked! It worked!! Yay! Whoopeee! Deluxdon is the man! (or woMan!) OK, so I went into my database via phpAdmin. And as you may have read previously, I said I couldn't find the plugins. Well, I dug around some more and soon realized once I clicked on wp-options (under the 'structure' tab) there is more than 1 page. In this case, there are 8, to more precise. Well, lo and behold, the active plugins were on the 2nd page. Long story short, I following the tutorial and deactivated the tubepress plugin. And tada! I'm inside my admin. Sweet! digitalpoint forum and deluxdon totally rock! I couldn't have done it without you!
Glad that now your site is working (admin panel) very well. Keep given link as a note for future reference One more tip that no need to use so many wp plugins at a time else it'll take so long to load your blog. So use only plugins which you think useful for your blog. DON.
