Review My Layout and Adsense

    Hey,

I heard that DP has lots of great Adsense gurus that know what they are talking about, so I thought that this would be the best place to get a review and make sure my design and ads are "legal."

    beta.thedailyneopets.com/index_pwnfulasedo.php#

My first question is about the ads in my content. You may notice that the left one is an ad and the one of the right will be a link to another page on my site (e.g., a related article to the current topic). I have borders around these images so it shouldn't be a problem, should it? Additionally, is this type of disguise on the right (the link to the related article) almost too deceitful because it looks SO similar to an ad? Is there anything I should change? Oh, and, it's weird because the ad on the left doesn't have "Ads by Google" on it. LOL!

My other question is about my Firefox Referral button on the right boxes halfway down the page. I was wondering if my text "draws unfair attention to the ad, causing people to click it NOT because they are interested." The text is not untrue but Google might come at me with some lame "your text draws unfair attention to the ad." Is there anything I should change?

    Thanks

Hey, when i bumped a thread of mine, i got an 'infraction' !

as far as your FF referral: I use a very similar tactic and it works very well for me - before i started doing it i sent an email with a screenshot to the Adsense man and they confirmed it was not a problem AS LONG AS you dont say 'click here to download'.. however, dont take my word for it, if you have any doubt, send them an email yourself - you'll sleep better at night..

Looks good, but lot of links including your search is not working.

Just for the design, I think it is OK.

    Thanks

Thanks for your feedback, but I'm still wondering if those ads are legal or will I get banned?

Your ads are illegal. It looks to me they are edited, as they don't have the
    "ads by goooooogle" bit. Sorry.

Also, you have 4 ads on one page. Max is 3 :)

If I recall, you're allowed to have 3 ad units, 1 link unit, and 1 referral unit.

Additionally, I don't know why 'ads by goooogle' bit isn't appearing!

hi tipem, if you remove the words "ads by google" (the ads on the left with image), I'm pretty sure that's illegal and the search's still not working, I like the way you blend google ads on the right.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DIDNT GET THE MEMO:

I DONT KNOW WHY 'ADS BY GOOGLE' ISN'T APPEARING!

Another note: Nothing is functional on that layout. I'm asking for adsense help, not layout comments. The search is not going to be google anyway because google's search stinks. :D

I did something like that with one of my website, and google banned that website because they think that .. hm ... let me quote they words : "Publishers may not implement Google ads in a manner that disguises the ads in any way, for instance, by formatting neighboring content to look similar to the ads, or by making ads look like games or forum threads. Additionally, publishers may not attempt to associate specific images with the individual ads appearing on their sites. Such an implementation may confuse users who assume that the image is directly related to the advertiser's offerings."

They didn't give me a chance to change the layout, they just banned it just like that.

But it's up to you then, perhaps it would be great to have them (google adsense team) to review your site :)

Thanks for this. I probably shouldn't do that. Have you noticed though inconsistency amongst Adsense Representatives though? Some of them say something, then others say something else.

I thought about that. :) Thanks.

    Any more feedback?
