Hey guys, I had a website site which lasts 2 years, It's a news site on China, as I'm a Chinese, and it's a bit hard for me to run an English site, now it has about 500 IP per day, this lasts for several months, and didn't see it going higher, each day i make new post, submit to some bookmarks, answer some questions on yahoo answer, post some links on forums, and even facebook, twitter, youtube, but things didn't go as I think. What could I do now? help! Btw, this is my site: http://www.chinahourly.com
What social bookmarking sites do you use? Do you have a twitter account, do you use stumbleupon? Do you have many backlinks?
Hey Brandon, I use something like Onlywire to submit to about 30 bookmark sites at once. yes, I use twitter, just have 6 guy following me? stumbleupon, just noticed it from here, Some site didn't know how to use it? cos it's not like Chinese thinking? Thanks.
You have plenty of articles on your site but you might want to work on the quality of the articles. Check the grammar and make sure they are engaging to read. As important as driving traffic to your website is to make sure that your traffic stays in your website and comes back to it again and again. I suggest participating in forums and blogs that are related to your website. In your case, I would say a travel-related blog or forum. Post relevant and current information that is found in your site on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. Hope that helps. Have a good day!
Who exactly are you trying to target here? Chinese or the non-Chinese who are interested in reading news about China? Do Chinese really read their news in English? Maybe you are targeting the wrong audience that's why your traffic ain't increasing. Is Facebook big in China? If so, try creating a Facebook page and share news from your site on your page. I heard Youtube is banned in China, and so I assume Google is not as popular as well. But I heard Youku and Baidu are popular there.
Hey affilorama, thanks for your advice. especially the quality of the articles you mentioned. Only it's a bit hard for a Chinese to write so good English article. it would be a challenge. I made this site just want to share more info. on China.
Hey Frankrock, The target audience is American people, I like share the news on foreigners, if i share info to Chinese, i wouldn't make an English site, yes, many site had been banned here. seems you know many stuff on China. thanks.
I would write some articles and submit them to ezinearticles to get some exposure - that usually works for me
It is simple just create more backlinks and try to integrate with social media aggregates try PPC as well.
try to do something new on your site and from since last two years you didn't make any change so now its time to get something new over there and keep working on pasting your link on there sites..................
Make sure that the key words that you are targeting aren't to overly competitive. This could be the reason why you haven't witnessed much of an increase in your site rankings through Alexa or google, considering the amount of work that you have placed in to attract followers to your site.
If your targeted audience are american, you should do some research on the websites that american visit most frequently, try it at www.alexa.com to check.
I wish I could find a link to information about you, but I read somewhere that Google does not index words such as "how" or "what" or and other conjunctions, etc. I am going to try if I can find information and transmit it again, but you know how it goes, only Google knows for sure .....
