I want to open an ecommerce site but don't know where to start. Where do you find stuff to sell online?
Think about what do you like about.Selling something that is related to your likes will keep you motivated.Research the market, competiton and demand before starting will help a lot.
make a market research find vendors, shop to find best suppliers.. or make the product yourself (like t-shirts or something like that)
you cant just say "OH!!! use a dropshipper " ..its not that easy. 99 percent are fake. how do you "find a supplier"?
You could start with an Amazon store to get your feet wet. It would have the least out of pocket expense and no inventory to maintain. Just promote the site and bring in the bucks.
If you have some Budget try alibaba.com and import directly from china. Also search a lot for Wholesale, pallet, closeouts, etc. And most important, if you live in a small town or other country than USA, look around your neighborhood! I´m from Chile, and I´m currently making research on what to sell too. I think I will sell some craftmanships from around here. I also sell anime toys that I import from China but I´m not selling them on eBay yet.
i have seen http://www.ipod-nano.ws.... is this what you mean? is that a free script or is something like that custom made?
Associate-O-Matic has a free and a paid version. Free version will send customers to their affiliate ID every now and then
That is similar if not the same script I use at the KingBloom Direcotry It's a cheesey free script, and I cannot remember off the top of my head what it was called. Lately I've been using GhostScripter to make sites like this: http://www.themacplus.com http://www.golfersway.com http://www.shoeshinestore.com I am going to be implementing a new script at KingBloom next week for the shopping section which will have a fresher, more organized look. All of the sites above are for sale btw. I am trying to get rid of a lot of unwanted projects.
Selling stuff online is the old way to do things. A couple of my friends and I will be launching http://www.barterhookup.com soon. No more bidding, or middlemen, or stupid rules. Just trade the stuff or services you have for other people's products and services. Make your best deal, and watch us get out of your way! The site is not done yet, but we should be ready to beta soon!
Actually... i've been doing very well with dropshipping in the car parts market. Over 100k gross per month on average. If you want some advice, let me know - i'll be more than willing to point you in the right direction.
Have you thought about going into e-commerce using non-inventory items? If you stick to on-line services where all you do is get a commission... Who needs a drop shipper??
I started out on ebay selling stuff that I obtained from garage sales and auctions. It was OK, but very time consuming. I had to spend a great deal of time at the auctions, researching the items and then writing up each item individually. I looked into drop shippers, but I quickly found out that their claims were unrealistic and that I had to answer for a fulfillment process that I had no control over. I finally came across web sites that specialize in ordering items from overseas. Some of them can take items from your specs or a sample of an item that you are trying to sell and have them engineered and shipped to you for a fraction of what they cost domestically. For example, I've had a janatorial chemical pump engineered and shipped from Viet Nam for 28% of what they cost to manufacture it here. I worked with a site called www.heartlandglobaldirect.com and they were great. They took my plans and and helped me develop the item. I'm a power seller now and have since worked with them and some other sites to get a whole line of janitorial supplies. Good Luck!
Worldwide Brands is a great source for products. It is a very reputable company and is ebay certified. They do not handle products but have an incredible database of "real dropshippers" and small order manufacturers. It is not free but is woth checking out.
you can free your limits from selling physical products to selling digital products. Just becoming a member of a plr membership sites and use the plr articles in it to build a website full of content. It's a workable idea and many people have succeeded with it.
