It a new algorithm announced by Google. Its aim is to fight against content farms (duplicate content website). My website is already affected, so I came here to find solutions. It is amazing nobody is talking about it here...

Google panda effects the web sites those had farmed content on the website and using copy content to rank but Google updates their algorithm and start penalizing websites those have copy and stuffed content.

It affects only 2-3% of websites not all. Remove all irrelevant links from websites and focus on quality.

It is a nice step taken by google, because few months back people used to copy content on their site from other ones and earn easily by autoblogs, but this step is really a great from hardworking people.

To avoid deadly panda kicks you need to provide useful content, here is my definition:

A good content will pass a human inspection
A good content is not ad heavy
A good content is well linked externally
A good content is not a copy of another document
A good content is typically created by a brand or an entity which has a distribution channel outside of the search channel
A good content does not have a 100% bounce rate followed by a click on a different search result for that same search query ;)

At the end of February, Google has introduced a new algorithm change (known as “Farmer” or “Panda”), for identifying sub-standard pages and sites. Google Panda update has been introduced to reduce rankings of these low-quality sites, so that only those sites having the highest quality get good page rank. Google Panda is considering a variety of parameters to identify low quality sites. Poorly written content just for the purpose of keyword stuffing, content copied from other websites, or information not relevant to the theme of the website--- Google Panda is going to target all these. It is therefore necessary for every webmaster to thoroughly evaluate their website and remove all unwanted content and unwanted ads from their webpages to retain their page rank.

Goolge panda is not 100% perfect as I have some autoblogs who are still ranking well in the SERPS. I have some that is affected too. But legit site won't be affected by this.

If your autoblogs have unique content that's human readable, Panda wouldn't have touched them. It weeded out several million badly spun dupe content blogs. They should have called it the 'ilLEGERble' update.

Everything seems to be covered upthread but just wanted to add my two cents.. Google’s Farmer/Panda update seems to be interested in the user experience. The algorithm is paying attention to the actual user base they have as an indication of the useful and relevant content on the page.

@RiverWire, Nice Pic :) lol , i like the way you have answered this post . .. .

Google regularly updates its algorithm to remind us not to use illegal ways for ranking....This step is appreciable but would surely affect very large number of users.
