Its really easy. You will get everything you need from VB. Read the instructions and after a few uploads and clicks you are done.

It is easy, but can be time consuming for a large forum. Just whatever you do make sure you have a clean backup of your database before you do anything.

It's very easy with vB's ImpEx system. If you need help there's the online doc center found on the vbulletin website. Just be sure you backup both of your database before try it.

I dont mean to beat the dead horse, but as they have said, it's not too bad at all. Considering all the data that needs to be converted, the process is actually pretty amazing.

By the way. Not all data will be moved. You will probably lose a few minor things but its worth it.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have a few questions. I work for a company that has a large active forum that uses PHPBB. I find it really frustrating that SEO mods, security patches, etc break break the templates/site. I am putting together a proposal for my boss to switch to V-Bulletin. Is it really worth it? I am proposing that it is easier to update and seo friendly... any other pluses?

Also, I can not afford to have broken links on this site. We have a ton of links to our forum on our site and others. Will all of these links be broken (404) if we switch to vBulletin? Does the import process take care of 301 redirecting these links?

While surfing the web for ways to migrate my forum from phpbb to vbulletin, I found migration service called CMS2CMS. This service is started to meet all the interested you’ve stated above, like fast process, transfer 100% of data and take care of 301 redirecting. It sounds nice, but I actually tried only demo migration and was wondering, if anyone used this CMS2CMS or maybe heard something about it? I mean I am not willing to pay money for service unless it is trustable one.
