What kind of budget will I need to do a test for about 100 keywords What is the minimum amount budget google allows me to set, can I set up a campaign for $50, $100, $150 etccc
Of course you can do a test with 150 bucks, I recommend just going to fiverr.com or any other number of coupon sites, couponcabin, retailmenot, etc, and getting a free 75 or 100 dollar coupon and that will actually suffice for what your trying to do. Run more than 5 ads with each campaign (so that you get a feel for what the public is responding to the most), and also make sure you get ALL over the "network placements" if you don't know what network placements are, just google it and you can find out, but go ahead and click "networks" - while your inside your adwords account, click add placements, and then you will have the "placement tool" on the right, this will let you search by industry and find all the "niche" sites that are running "google adsense" (meaning you can place an ad with ANY of these sites), this is great because it's SOOO much cheaper, much more cost effective trust me, and it's also much more targeted obviously... I hope these quick little pointers help.. Jeremiah Chairman & CEO thenerdblurb.com
@plrinfo4u See it's not just me saying it :-P You really should look into getting a free 100 dollar or 75 dollar voucher and use that to get a good "test run" under your belt.. From there you will have plenty of data to analyze. Make sure your website is properly being tracked though, or all of this will be kind of a waste - not completely because you will learn a lot about "responsive" and non "responsive" keywords, and you'll also have all of the adwords data you collected over that month. (set your daily budget at like 3 bucks) And focus in on those "Network Placements" trust me those are your real "niche" sites anyway that you want to be seen on and the cost is, at least the average I have seen, around .25 cents... Not bad eh? Good luck to you! By the way, if your site isn't properly being tracked right now and you want some pointers on what software to use on that front, I'd be more than happy to help you... Deffinitely get yourself some free coupons to use first. Why spend your own money when you can spend Google's for instance
The 100 keywords you using, are they just 1 word keywords or are they "phrases/keyword-terms"? Cheers dude, Jeremiah Chairman & CEO TheNerdBlurb.com
$150 might be spread too thin to cover 100 keywords. If all of these terms are single keywords, tested on broad match, and/or are high volume terms, you may find that your initial test run is over in a few days. You may be better off identifying 10-20 essential, relevant keywords and using them to test your offer. Make use of the various campaign tools offered by Google(negative keyords, multiple match options, split testing, etc.) to really optimize your ads performance. It's also not a bad idea to, as many have already suggested, to make use of the free advertising promos to bolster your ad budget. Best of luck to you, 7searchGuys
$150 budget may or may not be alright. It all depends how much your paying per click! I've run campaigns where we pay up to $10 per click - for $150 in advertising budget you can't get a statistically significant enough amount of visitors to determine whether your campaigns working or not at that rate. So really, it depends what price per click your paying. If your paying 50 cents a click it might be enough to give you a good idea at least.
The minimum bid at adwords is 0.01 $. So you can start with this bid's for you keywords. There is would be the minimum that adwords accept.
