Please look I have some 5 out going link to some other websites from my site http://www.petitionspot.com/ in footer. I want to know does they effect my SEO rankings. I am getting paid for those links. Should I remove those sites or not. Actually i just want to know what kind of bad impact those can have on my SREP. so please tell me the related impact on those. Please share your experience with me.
Rather than effect SERP of the homepage itself, they're likely to reduce the serps of interior pages because you are passing pr to those external links.
it will not effect your pr unless bad links. But it will effect little in serps when u interlink pages.
My guess? It sure could..... You have totally unrelated links in a 'sector' of the page generally reserved for navigation. If you notice in the Matt Cutts 'Timeline' post, that the links he was busting were a. Unrelated b. In the footer I myself would advise clients against this practice. Plain and simple. It is not worth the risk. some general stuff; Matt Cutts on linking Matt Cutts Timeline Post
No big problem since you only have 4 or 5 outbound links only. Don't worry about it. What happens is that you get $$ for that links, dont you.
In my experience having outbound links will not affect your rankings or your PageRank it will simply help the people you are linking to, If the sites are relevant it may even help your rankings.
It will diminish the amount of page rank your site has as a whole (according to the page rank algorithm spec). Think of the following two sites: Site A, index page rank of 6 with 4 links going to other pages on the same site. Site B, index page rank of 6 with 4 links going to other pages on the same site and 100 links going to various pages on other sites. Site A passes all possible page rank to the 4 pages on the site. The 4 other pages in turn pass page rank back to the index page. Site A passes less page rank on to the 4 pages on the site, so they in turn have less page rank to pass back to the index page. In actual practice the difference might not be that noticable because Google uses more than pagerank to determine placement in search results.
No your pagerank do not sink. When site A links to Site B and pass pagerank, that just means google will credit site B with a amount that is half of the pagerank Site A has, divided by how many links on that page site A links to. Site A do not actually lose pagerank. A website only lose pagerank when other sites stop linking to it or if you are linking to bad neighborhoods
i think it shouldn't affect your rankings but yes it might divert your traffic after they visit your home page. Also your PR is passed to those outbound links..
Honestly you have so many links on your page already (although most are inbound) a few outbound links for a couple of nice $$ looks like it wouldn't cause many issues to me. That said both you and your advertisers would gain a lot more and avoid any future penalties if the links were pointing to sites that were at least semi-related. All in all I wouldn't remove the links if they are good money spinner for you (by the look of it you have removed them) and even if in the foreseeable future Google managed to work out a means of penalizing for link sales that appear in site's footers I'm sure their removal and a reinclusion request would see a minor infringement like this have your penalty being overlooked.
I dont see any harm in doing that.. infact, it should help you in better page ranks.. if its all relevant texts
A very solid point actually, every bit of extra content helps and when you are linking relevant sites they generally want specific anchor text in their links and if your site has a lot more trustrank and PR than the site you are linking (which is normally the case if they are buying links off you) you may well out rank the site for that specific term... .
