How long does search engine optimization (SEO) take to do?

I am trying to find out what kind of time commitment is necessary to optimize my site so it can be more easily found in the search engines.

 

Spend more time and get more than expected result. unique, informative content and strong back links may be a couple of high quality back links can bring you in the SERP provided the niche is not too competitive. otherwise it will take time.

 

For a new site need 3 months.

 

Hardwork and patience is what really builds up a strong foundation for a site. It will take a long period of time to finally make a successful SEO for a site.
You have to make your plans, study the changes on SE's, learn new ways to beat others competition and gain ranking, improving your contents, and many more.

And yes, you should be committed to your work.

if your website is good content, the time is few than 3 months

 

SEO is an ongoing task.

If you have a website you want to optimize for Google, new site, or one that wasnt before optimized, the initial SEO work will be around 3 months, sometimes less if the domain is not brand new.
Having that said, you have to continue and optimize your site also after you're done with the initial SEO work (titles, design etc..). You have to go on adding content to your website, you have to work on getting links from other websites to yours, and most of all - Google-wise:You have to keep track of your Keywords and how they do on the SEPR, and adjust your website accordingly.

So to conclude: SEO work doen not stop, but initial SEO setup is around 3 months..

 

it depends on what how long time you spent on the seo with quality contents.........

 

If you do good and quality search engine optimization for your site 3 months would show a good progress to your site. Well Search Engine Optimization is a continuous work if you want to get a good result for your site.

Untrue, while it's a great position to be in, stopping there will just cause the site to fall back down on searches after a while.
A website owner should always monitor keywords positions and traffic, and adjust his content or website accordingly.

 

It is life long.You should keep optimising your site always,because there are many competitors which is take over otherwise

 

It would certainly depends on the keyword and the niche competition you choose to optimize

 

SEO is a continous task

but to get in rankings on/near first page 3-6 months but can take longer if keywords are competitive ...

 

It's depend on your competition & how much time you are having with your site. You have to make some strategy about that.

 

As per my experience there are TWO types of optimization-one is ON-PAGE and second is OFF-PAGE.

I am only aware of OFF-page and there are lots of TASK included in it like submission of Article, Directory, Search Engine, PR, Blog commenting, S.B. etc....and ONE have to do ALL this task REGULARLY atleast for more than 4 mths to GET desired RESULT and this is one type of ON GOING process.

Similarly with ON-PAGE also include many task which need to be performed CONTINUOUSLY.

From my END I have shared you what I know in this field till now. Hope this will gives you way to go more DEEP in this.

 

it depends on your competition and how you do the back linking and on site SEO. sometimes it takes several days and some times months

 

No one can answer this question, especially without knowing what keyword you are going after to at a minimum review the competition.

Some of my keywords are days, where no competition exists (or where competition doesnt know what they are doing)
Some keywords will take months

It all depends on your backlinkng strategy. If you can land a few well placed links (featured on PR8 or PR9 sites),you will end up with a massive boost, from both that link itself, and the syndication. Cheap backlinks (profiles, directories) are OK for low competition, but they will never get you anywhere with the competitive keywords.

 

It depends upon the keyword traffic that we are targetting. There is no fixed time.

 

Depends upon the competition,website kind and if website is off affiliate marketing then you have to do work on regularly basis.
