Importance of quality content in increasing ranking with new google algorithm

Google recently released its new algorithm called "Panda" designed to find quality sites and lift up them in the search rankings.

But Panda is causing a lot of pandemonium for all types of businesses, those that follow Google's "white hat" SEO rules, and those that didn’t.

The Panda update was punished sites with low quality content, such as content farms rolling out millions of articles or videos of mostly average quality.

And to some degree, Panda did what it promised and demoted some of the more visible content farms.

So submit unique, relevant, quality content and gear up ranking.

Google was always doing this. I don't understand if there are any changes with this new algorithm.

Yes, now we need to promote our website with top quality contents. In users perspective this is really a good move from Google because this will provide the users with quality sites.

    I have 3 reasons:
    * good quality content = site stickiness (meaning people stay longer and return more often to your site ).
    * good quality content = you will be seen as an expert = to increase credibility.
    * good quality content = websites will start link to you (meaning extra links pointing to your site will improve your position in search engine).

I have observed on this thread that a lot of spell mistakes are typed by our users; if this itself is a case, how about the website content posted by them then?

Also, Yes, Panda has really helped some of the websites which have quality content and therefore websites with quality and genuine content are of utmost important in Google's eye.

Panda Update means Qualitative content!! The reason of Applying Panda Algorithm is that Google Wants Search Results more Organic and Reliable with Effective Manner! So if Webmasters wants to optimized their Sites and enhance their Search Engine Rankings, they have to focus on Unique and fresh Content..

In my latest post I actually discussed some of the possible methods that Google might have to identify "quality content". And interestingly, dorothykinder points out one of the things that IMHO might be used by Google to detect bad quality - spelling mistakes. Check out my post why Website localization is impacted by the new Google algorithm. Yes, it's oriented towards website localization, but the underlying causes are the same...

Interesting reading SEOTranslater, however...if you are smart enough when doing the translate gimmick you make the necessary corrections on the translated text...am I right?

Of course, that's the professional thing to do. But it's not just spelling and grammar, there are other factors. Note for example that the keyword for a specific page may not be a direct translation of that particular keyword, in the translated text you may wish to use a variant because in the target language the variant has a much higher number of searches.

I perfectly understand..basically, this is how I do it: translate from my mother language to English, put the English text in Office and work on it with the original text on another monitor. It takes about 10 minutes to create a perfectly readable/intelligible article. Of course, many folks prefer the easy way - translate and post. But their content will always be rubbish. :)

yes, you are right. Google has also removed some big article marketing sites like ezine and articlesbase from its do-follow list, because of substandard link quality.

There is too much duplicated content on the Internet, especially because autoblogging is getting more popular so Google has to take care of that.

    Hello.

My website also got penalized but my content wasn't duplicate. It was purely unique and well spun with an English that was easily read-able. There were no spelling mistakes, what methods is Google employing to check-out quality ? Of course automated systems can't check Tenses, Grammatical Errors and stuff, What about it ?

3 of my websites were linked to each-other and all Got penalized. Wassup with it?

not sure asadmoeen, to me the way google works is a mystery. :(

google loves quality, unique content obviously. maybe it was something else rather than what seemed to be duplicated content.
