Keyword Spamming?

Discussion in 'Keywords' started by acdctv, Apr 19, 2011.

Our SEO company has advised that we create a page riddled with keywords to upload to our domain and internally link to improve Google hits, how many keywords are okay? When does it become keyword spamming? And how does Google take action against keyword spammers?
Any help on this would be great.

    hi,
i am a newbie here. i am interested to reply this topic though i have not introduced myself in this forum yet :).
loo Google is very strict in this case. keyword spamming can ban your adsense account as well as your one big source.so be careful.
you should not cross the keyword density more than 3% to 5%. simply Google think its natural. don't do any intentional addition of keywords. it will be considered as spam.
    thanks

Only you don't have to repeat keyword again and again. For one page you can add maximum of 10 to 12 keywords in keyword tag.

If you spam, Google will penalize you by shifting your ranking to back pages and will also lower your page rank.

Obviously there's a gray area, but riddled would be a good clue. JMO but I'd start looking for another SEO company.

Hi, thanks for your advise. I have since been advised it is not 'riddled' but 'keyword rich'. I'll send it back to the SEO company and see what they make od the density of keywords. Cheers :)

You can always add more content to the page to reduce the keyword density. What's best is what comes naturally.

One thing i could not understand in google algorithms. affiliate sites copy content from their partner sites and place them on different pages. if one page is showing 500 same product then all the product names are considered keyword by search engine. how search engine consider that this is not keyword stuffing.

But it depend of your current keyword density. The optimal density is in range about 1-3 %, I'm not wrong?

Many SEO experts recommend a certain 'keyword density'. This is the number of times your keyword appears against the total number of words in your article. The percentage varies from person to person. But for me personally I wouldn't above 3%. With 3% its hard to keep your article readable IMHO so if I get 1% its good enough for me.

Keyword percentage does not depend upon person to person, but it depends upon site to site. now google do not believe on percentage. It require quality and user friendly content with one condition that keywords must be repeated more time than any keyword.

Keyword spam is a SEO technique used by Web designers to overload keywords onto a Web page so that search engines will read the page as being relevant in a Web search.

Keyword spamming is the excessive repetition of keywords on a page. It is usually done using 'hidden' elements that are indexed by search engines but are not visible to users including Title, Meta, and Alt. Black-hatters have found that they can disguise keywords in the contents of the page by making the text the same color as the background and tucking it away at the bottom of the page.

This could be accomplished through a variety of means ranging from simply repeating key phrases in your body text to using CSS to hide text off the site of your page.

Keyword stuffing can be penalized by Google. Your site page rank can be shifted down or your website can be permanently banned. Don't stuff keyword, it should make sense when you are writing it in a keyword phrase. Keyword density 3-5% will be OK.

you better maintain a keyword density which is not in the range of keyword stuffing or keyword spamming, also make your keyword positioning look more natural both for your readers and search engines.

Use your own judgement, see if your article/web page looks spammy. Repeating your keywords too many times throughout a web page will give it a very heavy text which can get very annoying to read.

Keywords spamming is the use of bunch of keywords in content without following the density rules. More then 3 to 4% density of the keywords in content considered the keyword spamming.
