you need to work on good content. it shows that users wont get the data they are looking for. make your data keyword specific that will make them stay longer on your site

From what I read in replies I must agree with the theory that your sites domain name is very similar to some other popular domain.
You should find out what is that other domain about an make similar but unique landing page to keep your visitor on your site

My own personal observation is that it is really hard to get a bounce rate under 20%, anything over 35% is cause for concern, 50% (above) is worrying. I stress that this is my personal analysis.

Please allow me to emphasize something very important to your case...

A 35 % bounce rate is AWESOME! 50%Bounce Rate is also Awesome..Normal bounce rate for an average site is around 60-70%///The only way you will ever have a bounce rate of 35% or less as i do..Is to have one of 2 things taking place.Offline advertisement will bring such a trend ,Or an authority Domain similar to yours with a link to your site .Other than that 60% is still on the low side and 70 % is more or less realistic...

BOTTOM LINE! You have not advertised your site ,it is fairly new,And i assume the quality of it is either average or less...Here is your conclusion...Someone placed an article or blog with a typo naming your domain as the recipient .Or maybe someone has a domain as i stated above in this post very similar to yours..THIS WILL NOT LAST!!
You should spend some time on this and find out where they are coming from ...And try typing in your own domain very quickly 10-20 times as fast5 as you can into a word doc..Try and see if you spot something similar in your scribbles...

A fine example ..realestatenews.DOTcom Is an excellent domain...BUT if you own the domain realestatenewDOTcom These are 2 completely different topics YET the Domain is almost exact...Realestatenews places an offline add in a magazine ..There is a good chance the other domain will also see some of this traffic..This is why bounce rates are soooo high ..Because this is exactly what causes it..

In the case with your site ..You should not be getting any traffic at all unless you yourself directed it there...So you know these visitors are not yours BUT you can do something immediately to try and catch some of it ...Dont wait...

TRULY this should be the end of this thread...You now have all the information you need to do what you should be doing...Here is where the 95% of people and the 5% of IMers take their road...This is not an east task but you have a rare opportunity in front of you ..YOU should do something about it...May be 2-3 more years before you see this much traffic any where near your sites..Im not saying this to be crappy..Im saying it because i KNOW! Same thing happened to me ..Took additional 3 years before i seen it again..

First update the content. Add unique content. Check website upload time, broken link. Also make sure that you have not added two Google Analytics code.

This exact behaviour and pattern is typically seen when someone, most likely the siteowner himself, are opening his site in the background from other sites.

It works like this, you create a 1 x 1 pixel IFRAME, then make it invisible and then place it on a large traffic website. Each time the large traffic website is loaded/called your lowlife site is also loaded and a hit/visit is recorded. But since the visitor isn't able to see or surf on your site, you do get an immensely high bounce rate and the visiting time can be an effect of the IFRAME auto-closing to keep the number of active connections down. Such numbers very rarely occur on a site with natural traffic, something is obviuosly wrong or scammy. Natural traffic does not behave with a 99% bounce rate and 1 second viewing time, just doesn't happen - trust me!

And for the people who are talking possible bounce rate numbers:
One of my sites has an average bounce rate over the last 13 months of 1.06%, which is all explained in a very simple concept:
Give to the Market what the Market wants

I have the same problem. Here are more details.

Everything was fine. I was having 1800-2000 new visitors everyday without any large fluctuations. But from last 2 days. I have more than 6000 visitors per day. I had checked out overall bound rate is around 97-100%. and visitors are spending 0 to 3 seconds on my website. most of traffic coming from direct visitors.

My suspicion is towards adtaily.com . I had register with them to get advertiser on my website. I have placed their banner on my website. So users can buy advertise on my website. They had also asked to grant my analytics access to them, so they can show my visitors stats to their clients.

So, today i will remove their ad and see, if this will help me or not.

I hope this would not make much trouble for me and any negative effects on my website SEO.

    Hi

In your site may not have clear content related to title or page and one more thing that you use more flash and Java Script in your site it will take time to load that page this is also one of the reason.

Are you involved in any purchasing or traffic, for example the sites who pay their users to simply visit your web site (in return for payment). if you recently brought this site due to traffic stats advertised, perhaps this is the cause.

There's no way you'd get a 99% bounce rate with "real" visitors.

    1. Direct Visits
    2. 00:01 Avg time on site
    3. 99.99% bounce rate

It's just probably you or someone who manages your website checking up your homepage and then leaves the site immediately... and he's probably doing the same thing over and over again a thousand times a day.

some pagerank checking programs/services have been known to do this...or more likely, a person chekcing the pagerank and leaving right away. but not for 1sec.
