How could this happen? Well I did copy some content from Wikipedia (which is OK i believe) and lately I wasn't creating almost any unique content only agregating news from other sites in cluding first few original paragraphs (usually 1 or two)...

Hm i just checked and I think they even grew by ~30% ... I guess I lost the PR because of the "plague" content, which actually is not plague but Google probably thinks it is... i do not know how it considers copying Wikipedia - anyone knows?

Dude, ignore it. My blog went from PR 5 to 0, and the backlink count went to 0. The trouble is, I have 66,000 links, and many of them from very high quality sources.

Google is broke. They've been broke for years.

PR is ONLY calculated from incoming links. ANY other factors dont affect it.

    yeah shit happens :D

i had a similar thing, this site www.postsimple.com used to be pr6, but when i removed a pr7 link to it and it dropped to pr3 :(
not that is really important anyway heh

you can't be sure about that, googe may use all kinds of info for pr and there're various penalties

    Yeah,

thats what I am thinking too... however, sh*t really happens because I was just going to sell few PR6 links from that site...

I hope this is just "error" and I will get my PR back soon...

I am hoping it is an error too as mine lost PR but gained traffic..

I still have not nailed down how important PR is anymore - those that loose it bash it but still many seo tools are based on it.

when you checked it last time ?
If it has dropped instantly then i have no answer.. but possibility is that you may have checked PR6 while ago and missed couple of pr updates and now you are PR3.

There was a latest data push and toolbar PR update by Google which could have triggered this.

Duplicate content is quite risky and Google kind of gives low priority. You might want to read other forums for more information of duplicating content.

No significant change. At least this is nice.

The sice is up since February 2006, got pr6 almost instantly, in late June remained and in the latest pr update went down to 3 probably... because I did not check this particular site since last upd.

However, my only biz site went from PR0 to 4 (as a compensation probably :D).

This might be true, because the toolbar was holding the PR6 for some more time from the last update that's why I actually started to wonder... :(

i'm not sure of the connection of you copying some contents on other sites on the change of your PR but what i can tell you is that copying contents will not do you any good...make unique contents as SE loves it...:)
