Social networking is a phenomena defined by linking people to each other in some way. facebook, twitter, Digg is a popular example of a social network. It allows you to interact with people online in a social way that a website would not.
Social bookmarking is the ability to save and categorize a personal collection of bookmarks and share them with others. For example you can post an article in your blog and then go to Stumble upon and bookmark it for everyone to read.

 

That is actually quite easy. Social Bookmarking sites can be (but don't have to be) based on Social Network sites, while Social Network sites are individual sites that allow you to socialise between each other.
On the social bookmarking site is it possible to bookmark favourite pages online and therefore allow it to share it with other people on the internet, e.g. Reddit, Digg, Stumpleupon, Delicouse. You or people can comment then on them and if wanted can befriend each other, while on Social Networking site, e.g. Facebook, Myspace, Linkedin, Xenu, Bebo..., the main reason is to connect with real friend and share news and favourit pages with them.

 

Social networking is a marketing strategy where you can add friends and to join a group. Of course joining online community considered as a networking site also. Social bookmarking is is process where you can save your links and view your website links to public where people can click and read it.
