i may too agree to nomadic views but i would like to add one more important thing - CONTENT IS KING.
TRy to update you blog daily with unique and fresh content to get targeted traffic and backlinks.

 

The best place to promote your site is to use stumble upon and dig because theses places are the having very huge gathering now a days.

 

Blog commenting, constant updating the content, and article submission can be of great help.

 

First strategy to consider is guest blogging, then using social media too helps. Also regular update of your blog is important.

prepare a list of keywords that you want to rank for, write one article each for those keywords and submit them to the article directories

 

Add quality content on your blog, bookmark your blogpost, add feed in feed directories, comment on other blogs are good ways to promote blog.
