    Hi Guys

I hope someone could help me with this problem.

I have a reseller hosting account on 'DomainX.com'.

We have decided to re-brand our services and acquired a new dedicated server. We also acquired a new domain - say 'DomainZ.com'. Obviously, 'DomainZ.com' has new IP Addresses as it is on another server.

We have already transfered all our clients' hosting accounts from 'DomainX.com' to 'DomainZ.com'.

Problem now is, I want to know if there is a way I can change DomainX.com to point to 'DomainZ.com' - without all my clients having to change their NS settings to DomainZ.com. (All their NS settings are currently pointed to DomainX.com)

Is there a way this can be done? I am currently on cPanel as well.

in order for your client to use DomainX.com NS, you have to have NS created on that domain and just change IP in NS to your new dedicated server and add record for them in your dedicated server

Aassociatehit hit it on the head. There will be some work involved but it can be done.

Do you use a private nameservers on your old reseller service? like ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com? If yes, it is doable by re-register the ns1 and ns2 into the new IP Addresses on your new servers.

If I understand your case correctly, domainx.com is owned by your old hosting provider. If that's the case, then it's not doable since they host many others domain alongside with yours. If they point their nameservers into your server, all of their other clients will also pointed to yours.

    Thanks aassociatehit

    Just another quick question.

Do I need to setup DomainX as a reseller and change all account ownerships to DomainX in WHM? Or, can I just set it up and create nameservers?
