Wow... so does this mean that all the gambling and poker sites in the US will be stopped by the FBI ? This is a HUGE loss for pokerstars, if it has completely been banned :D

I searched more after you posted, check this out :

Wow... I didn't realize that was against the law so I'm guessing more will be shut down..

But is there a way they can by a gambling permit? or something like casinos do?

Gambling is legal as long as you pay all the taxes and so on. Pokerstars have their headquarters in the Isle of Man because the laws are easier there, maybe that was one of the reasons, who knows.

Actually pokerstars.com is alive and well, can't say the same thing about fulltiltpoker.com or absolutpoker.com. Read the whole story here: http://networkedblogs.com/gJSX9

Haha, awesome. I have never visited these websites and I suppose there's no point of doing it now.

You can clear your cookies, maybe you entered them in the past. They worked for me also, but a friend told me they didn't so I cleared my cookies and I saw the accusations.

To be accurate, they were all about the money. They created over 70 Bank accounts in around 46 countries; and used their own web application to seep through and effectively phish the money; distributing it into the banks of their choice. The banks that they had chosen were bribed for storing the money, and there you go, the poker love triangle effect <3

I feel sorry for US players.... "land of the free" yeah right

It's nothing to do with screwing the FBI more, its about business. These poker rooms cater to international players, and while the loss of U.S. players will impact their revenue, it doesn't mean they will have to shut their doors.
