    Hello people :)

Recently I had this question in my head that i would like to share with everyone...

I read many blogs and see many people replying to articles HOWEVER hardly any of them follow up when the article writer or someone else reacts to the reply they made....

This brings me to think that people either don't register to get notifications or simply don't care... that is VERY weird to me... isn't that the whole idea of blogging?!?!

What do you guys usually do? what are your thoughts on this?

    Cheers to everyone!
    Pete

many people comment on blogs just to get a backlink to their blog. they dont really care about the topic or the reply back....

unless i am asking a question and looking for feedback, i usually dont request notification. if it's a blog that i follow, i will sometimes go back and manually look for responses to my reply. sometimes i just dont care.

Very true. Nowadays most of the people comment on blog posts only to get backlinks without even going through the article in most of the cases. But yeah if the article is too informative, then I think most of us would like to subscribe to replies.

    I register when
    1. A topic interests me
    2. I've been posting on that article/post for awhile already. (Saving in tabs)
    3. I need a question answered and want notifications for possible answers
    4. ?

Prob more, generally no unless I need to.

I'm not sure i explained my self properly... I am wondering if people actually check the response to their own comment!!
I realize it sucks to get endless email notifications anytime someone responds to the article but I'm sure i saw somewhere a way to get notified only when YOUR OWN comment was replied to... anyone knows about that?

    Cheers.

Mostly if the author is helping you with certain issues, then reply notification becomes necessary. Otherwise, the whole idea of commenting has been stuck around backlinks.
