Review my ad placement (dubstep site)

Just wondering what you guys think of my ad placement.

Single posts are different from every other page, I move the ad into the post as opposed to on the side. Majority of my traffic comes in directly to a single post.

My CTR is very low <1%. I get ~2000 pageviews from ~750-800 unique visitors per day.

    Any tips/information is greatly appreciated.

    Site is http://dubstep-remixes.com

Thats the main problem of this website. Your important content are the videos from youtube, because they are already on your index people won't click your subpages (articles) and because of that they won't even see your ads in the first place.

Add some ads on your index and you can check out the results.

...or possibly do smaller post excerpts on index pages so people have to click through to the post page.

I know you said most of your search traffic is landing on post pages directly though, so you might want to play with the ad blocks a bit. Turning OFF image ads might help them blend with the text and positioning the ad units against the videos might help too as that's what your eye is drawn to.

Thinking I'll throw a small banner ad above the first post on the main page, and all archive and search results pages.

For the single post ad block I have it gets a good CTR @ 3% (yesterday had 60 clicks on 1964 page impressions) but that only translates into $4.28 estimated earnings.

I know my niche isn't the highest paying, but that's a ridiculously low CPC. How can I increase that to make the most of it? I'll try turning off image ads for the in post because that's what majority of that ads that come up are, but I read that it's best to leave it as image & text ads because Google automatically picks the highest paying ad. It's worth a shot though.

Traffic has been growing very steadily I had 1400 unique visitors yesterday.

put an ad by the download link! users are more likely to click them where they would click the download

Do you mean a small leaderboard underneath the DL links?

yes a small leader board image ad under the download link will get you clicks......give it a try and let me know what happens

i can almost guarantee you more clicks......BUT remember they'll be accidental clicks so you wont make too much money from them

I put a small leaderboard above all posts on pages that aren't a single post.

I also put a large block on the right sidebar. I'll try the small leaderboard underneath DL links for a few days and see how it performs.

Is there really nothing else I can do to increase my CPC? I've researched for hours and the only thing is to start a new site with a new, higher paying niche...
