Got over 1k in my busines paypal indian account. I'm not indian.

The account was made for my a long time ago by an Indian. It's a shared account but only used by me. Thanks to new paypal rules we have to withdraw the money to the bank, but that can't be done... So the money is just sitting there.

If anyone knows how to get the cash out let me know.

Why the money can't be withdrawn?

Indian users can withdraw direct to bank account. All you need is IFSC code and Account Number.

No such person exists as the account is registered with. At least anymore.

Unless there is a way to withdraw the money to another person's bank, this situation seems pretty hopeless.

There is only one way to withdraw money
find out some one who has same surname as the account having the name of person and add his bank a/c into PayPal then try to withdraw money on his/her bank a/c. PayPal allow to withdraw money into relatives bank a/c

Go and buy something,, Buy yourself a nice site,, Surely it would be better than having a pile of cash you can't get your hands on..

Then put some banners on it and have the monthly payments sent to you this time..

Guys, all your suggesstions are crazy and meaningless here.
You should all know that an indian paypal account can't send money to any other paypal account using the balance!
and also you must know that the balance can't be used for shopping/buying anything on the web!
the idea of finding someone having the same surname is the most nearest although its still crazy because he will never find someone in india having his own surname and if it happened by luck, so how will he trust in him?!
you would better tell him to travel india to cash them out :D

    you have 2 option
    1. donate this money to Paypal (are you sleeping when all Indians here in DP gone Mad about the issue you should have then transfered the money out of this ac.)
    2. find someone here in DP who can do this for a premium .

and the best thing they would do is to limit his account and ask for his docs which he may not be able to provide.

I've used the account for 4 years. It's a sold account that has been confirmed in most possible ways.

If you got the payments when you were not full aware of the new policies of Paypal India, your "Generic" options are pretty limited:

    1. As people suggested, get someone with the same last name as the mentioned account owner.
    2. If the sending party is co-operative, refund the payments and ask them to send it to another "Usable" Paypal account. Refunds are still being done from Paypal balance (so far).

For rather customized assistance for your case, I may be able to help. Contact me if you need further. :)

If you got this money from any of your trusted person, you can issue refund and then ask you client to resend to your new personal account.

You ma found some guy who may be interested in buying your account for 50$ or 100
otherwise you are in pretty hopeless situation on this.
well as you did not case for 1000$ it means that is of little importance so may be donate it OR better wait for few years.Who know Paypal/RBI may remove these restrictions.

Surname method is the only way to get out of this situation. But again, you'll be risking your 1k by believing on a total stranger. You won't be able to do anything if the person refuses to transfer the money after getting those in his/her account.
What is the surname of the account creator btw?

Thats it? I can't believe you got worked up over such a small issue, heres what to do:

    1) Find an Indian guy with an Indian bank account you can trust (any name, any surname)
    2) When you find such a guy, upgrade your account to a business account which will give you the option to change the name on paypal to a business name.
    3) Choose the full name of the guy in #1 as the business name.
    4) Add bank account and withdraw

If it works for you, I'd be glad if you could give that paypal account to me after you have emptied it. :)

Helvetii, (Glad to see you back again)
Yes, that is only viable suggestion as it sounds however there are a couple of things:

    1) His account is already business and if I remember correctly, Paypal allows downgrade/upgrade account only once over the life span of the account.
    2) Paypal checks the bank account type before letting you add that (They are called "Current" and "Saving", respectively for "Business" and "Personal" in India) - So it may not be that straight forward to withdraw the funds by telling Paypal "Hey it's my business account" when in fact it is personal.

And just out of question, what are you supposed to do with an emptied, restricted Indian Paypal account? :p
