Hi all, Hi all, I'm putting together a website, http://www.mmo-emu.com/ that will track and archive server emulator projects for massiviely multiplayer online games. The idea is similar to what http://www.smithysanvil.com/ did before they decided to shut down and Zophar's domain (in respect to console emulators). However, today Google rejected my application for adsense because of copyright concerns. The rejection letter appeared generic and just mentioned that a website cannot have images, videos, mp3s, or new group results (which my website has none of...). The aforementioned http://www.smithysanvil.com/ is interestingly running Google AdSense ads. I do not understand why this website is allowed to have adsense ads when it had the same purpose for which my site was rejected. Any ideas? I sent a request for clarification to Google but have not yet received a reply yet. thanks, -MMO-Magnus
Because maybe http://www.smithysanvil.com/ gave another site up to register their adsense account (that's the advantage you have when you have more than 1 site). And they are still live because: 1) maybe they are big money makers (so sometimes google closes an eye if there are no complaints) 2) Google didn't discovered their site yet. Didier
WHOIS data of mmo-emu.com indicates that the domain name was created today so, when exactly did you apply for an Adsense account? Quit spamming.
How is that spamming? The domain was registered yesterday, the 19th. After uploading all of the current content and testing the site functionality I applied to adsense later that evening. Heh, wish I had thought of that. I have two other websites on completly different topics.
Fair warning don't sign up now with another site and hten put them on this site since it was already stated by google that you couldn't display ads on it as you will defintely get your whole account banned!
Google support just got back to me and they re-reviewed the site and approved it. I clearly explained in an e-mail that my site does not host any files - it merely archives mmog emulator projects. My guess is the first reviewer thought it was hosting files. If anyone else has this kind of problem I'd suggest just e-mailing their support. I was surprised - I got a response within 6 hours.
