    Friends i need help...

I wish to register a domain for my two word keyword for which i like to rank globally. But the .com, .net, .org got already registered by someone.

Now the only option left in front of me is to register the new '.co' domain. i.e. 'keywordkeyword.co'

My question is that, Can i rank globally by using .co domain. Is it equivalent to a .com domain.

Anyone tried SEO for '.co' domain? Is it worth registering '.co' domain in terms of SEO?

Sure, even though it's not equivalent to a .com domain. But I think .co domain has the opportunity to rank globally on SERPs.

Personally I would say no. If you put your .co up against the same name .com with relatively the same SEO work carried out then the .com will always outrank the .co

Try to think outside the box, find alternative ways to get the domain name you need. For example adding hypens.

yeah always check "keyword-keyword" version of the domain before drifting off with less popular domain extensions.

A .co domain is not a region specific domain, so it will have the potential to rank globally. Ideally the .com would be a better domain, but this shouldn't cause you a problem if you build up a strong SEO foundation.

.co won't be a problem for ranking, but as we all know .com is the best.

extension doesnt really much affect the SEO. However, most of the webmaster prefer .com, .net, .org because internet user are familiar with those extension. And, .com is most preferable because it is "default" in our mind

    .co is columbia.
People like .com, if someone do not know .co, when they see your url, they must think there is "m" missing.
Do you know any famous sites using .co?

Domain extension has no direct effect on SEO. It doesn't really matter whether you choose .com or .co or any other extensions. What matters most is that you build quality backlinks.

I think domain extensions does not matter too much when you know what you want to do in SEO. however, no alternative of .com as we are quite habituated with using it and moreover a mental satisfaction which is a big plus always.
