    Hi Guys

I might be late, but can somebody please enlighten me, if ringtone affiliates are still making money.

I thought of developing a mini site and landing pages and do some ppc marketing.

I have bought a domain name RingtonesNLogos.com , what wud be the best ay to start and who are the best affiliates for UK and USA which convert well, I have been surfing the forum. it seems there is mixed opinion.

    cheers

ringtone affiliates are crap...they dont make good money
you can get from a PPC click more than you get from a ringtone sale

If I can correct you all, there's LOTS of money still to be made in ringtones. There's certainly more competition now, so some of you might have been forced to drop out of the market, and not being able to say 'FREE' caused a hiccup to some, but I can say from first hand experience that there's still huge revenue opportunities with ringtones.

Case in point, we recently launch Mobile Sidewalk on our network. Some might say it's late in the ringtone game, but it's quickly become one of the strongest and most popular campaign among affiliates. It's gaining so quickly among affiliates, it's almost guaranteed to be one of our top three campaigns for next month.... particularly if you can throw incentive traffic into the mix.

So yes, it still makes money for many people.

I agree completely... it is just it isn't an EASY handout any more you have to work and tweak for conversions daily. If you want something EASY stay away but if that is the case then you are in the wrong biz..... and as JP stated Maxbounty did launch the mobile sidewalk offer and it currently pays the highest base payout for any ringtone network ($13.90) i am a memeber of (and i am a member at MOST CPA networks)

Wow... I think you're promoting the wrong ringtones programs then. Never gotten $10+ on an adsense click.

Beg to differ. I'm, promoting this in a prety prominent spot and haven't received anything.....coming from someone who has been in affiliate marketing since 1998 and made more than his fair share.

Then again this is nothing like online pharmacy, debt consolidtion, online gaming.................

And I would say debt consolidation has been played out to the max. I guess it all comes down to ideas on how to promote. You might no longer be seeing results with ringtones but I can attest that others are.... just like debt consolidation is probably doing you well where others fail. Different people generate results on different campaigns.

(Oh... and I've been doing this since 1997.) ;)

ShoeMoney has taken over the ringtone market. You might as well be promoting gambling in the U.S. :p

JP, Havne't done the debt, pharm or gambling thing in years, only thing I'm saying is I've tried them all and most did really well. I have a few sites geared towards just the type of people that should like ringtones getting over 15K unique visitors per day, and it's not converting. Your free trojan program is making a lot more than ringtones. I would have thought that both of these offers would appeal to the same market.

Then again, not allowing anyone to use the word "free" or "complimentary" probably quite a bit to do with it. BTW what law was passed that now says the words free and complimentary can't be used? Are these ringtones free or not?

It is the FTC and the companies behind the offers... as how would us feel if u thought you were signing up for a free music download and then a month later you got a 10.00 charge... this is reason for no longer using free.... as i am sure they got complaints out the wazoo..

Well, I've done pham (don't do anymore), gambling (don't do anymore), debt (still do, kinda) and I can say that I've worked harder on my ringtone campaigns then any of the others and for a much lower return.

Yes, you can still make money in it but to get to the upper level, it's not as easy, for me at least, compared to other competitive markets.

For these kind of website needs a lot of advertisement, because now it is difficult to get into this business, need something very attrctive or new.

There’s decline in conversion these days, no doubt.
Ringtones industry is slowly shifting from impulse sms buying to membership purchasing.
    Try this alternative model http://affiliates.funtonia.com
