Isn't that above quote the type of thing that you say annoys you the most? You make some interesting, albeit angry points but then let yourself down by doing the exact same thing that you're complaining that others do.
    Pretty funny.

You are right. There are loads of idiots walking around in here talking about being SEO experts but will work for $200. Obviously an SEO expert wouldn't do a 3 month job for $200.

But then again you are lying. You don't just sit and watch, I've seen your posts scattered everywhere since you've joined.

Apparently they do because that's what sells here. I wrote an actual informative Ebook and not a single person here has yet to buy it, yet it is on a topic that frequently gets asked about in the webmasters' area {forums}. They don't want to learn how to work hard to do it right. They want someone to tell them how they can do it instantly with barely any work. So they buy some get rich quick Ebook, read it, maybe try whatever it's pushing, maybe shelve it if they decide it's not worth the bother. Then they move on, only poorer for it. Meanwhile people keep clogging this forum with get rich quick offers because that is what people are buying. Till the idiots stop buying them, they will not change, and you know what they say about a fool and his money.

What a bias logic. Your eBook has no buyer, this doesn't mean that you have right to insult newbies.

If nobody is interesting to buy your eBook, then stop publicizing about your eBook. If it has value, it will get customers.

    huh!

So you are also the self pro-claimed Experts here. Did you born as Expert???

They will soon part ways, majority of these self pro-claimed gurus are just trying to sell their eBook, they will spend a week on their squeeze page/content and then spend 30 minutes on their magic secret google domination eBook.

I've been calling on people to stop claiming they are SEO experts for a while now, especially if they post questions like "how do I get back links to my site?" If you are going to work in the industry, take the time to learn at least the basics, because reckless behavior of so called experts makes it harder for the rest of us.

Anyone with any sense would see the words "SEO Expert" and take as much notice as you would for the phrase "Want cheap car insurance?". Let's face it, look at how many companies in the same industry's pro claim themselves as the no1 product or company. Misinformation isn't even frowned upon our own governments encourage it. I know it's fun to have a little moan every now and then (we all do) but i wouldn't waste too much effort trying to put your point across because it won't make a difference.

Shoot, I'm a Porn Star! I'm a Billionaire! I'm a Professional Golfer. I'm an NBA SuperStar! BLAH BLAH BLAH!

    Really, who gives a damn!

I started a thread about this recently.

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2116059

I agree and disagree with you. There are a lot of people on DP who think they know what they are talking about, but in reality have no clue. They deem themselves experts based on reading others information - but have no industry experience.

I disagree with you on the fact that there is no such thing as an "expert". While I don't consider every person who has successfully made money doing something, an expert. Take Jeff Walker for instance. He launched the "Product Launch Formula" which is a very great course. I would consider him an expert in HIS field, because he created the product launch formula. The course he teaches has helped others launch successful business's, not just himself.

If you read the thread I posted above, you will see that the owner of DP realizes the issue, but is not really sure how to fix it.

wow OP definitely has some rage. I understand your points, and why they are frustrating, but this is the way things are in many businesses. There is always an olde garde that sees themselves as the "true" or "original" experts, and that the newbies are all pompous idiots. Sometimes, you can learn something from the new people, other times, they really do have very little to offer. But if you want to become obsolete faster then normal, then keep raging at the wind, because it closes your mind to new ideas
