Why isn't my page being indexed by google?

I am very new at writing pages but I finished my first page and tried to submit it to google, but I don't think it was indexed and I don't know how to check. My page is http://www.weswave.com/. I don't know what google looks at in order to decide whether or not to index a site so what can I do to help it be indexed?

it mainly checks for duplicate content. So if most of your content is copied from another site, you won't get indexed by Google because that is part of Black Hat SEO techniques. I suggest you make a deeper research on Google as to what is considered as Black Hat SEO techniques.

Actually I just took a look at your webiste and there isnt much content. You gotta write some kind of content in your website. How long ago did you create this website ?

if it's a remotely new website, it'll probably take a couple of days to get indexed.

It's very new. I just created it a few weeks ago but I did not take anything from another site. I know there isn't much to it, but it only really has one basic purpose which is to create citations. What could I do to add more content? If I added more pages of types of sources to be cited, could that do it?

How about you forget to get indexed and regularly add content. Google will index your site as long as you don't violate their terms, it may take a couple of weeks or more, be patient.

It takes time for new pages to be indexed . Do some social bookmarking , tweet , digg and stumble the URL . google needs time to realize that a new site has actually been created and that it must crawl it . The only way to notify google is when an already indexed URL points to yours from where google will take note of your URL and index it .

Also , since you wanted to find the indexed pages of your site , just goto google search and enter this in the search bar "site:www.weswave.com" without the "" and you will get a list of indexed pages from google .

For quick indexing your pages in google, do some social bookmarking work for your sites. It is the best method for google index. Good Luck

Create & Submit XML sitemap in Webmaster tools to get index in the particular Search Engines like Google, Yahoo & Bing

You can also submit your website in high pr sites to get index faster...

For quick index add content frequently. Also do some SBM, Article, Rss.xml & Search engine submissions.

Create a Google account, verify the website within Webmaster Tools and look to create and submit and xml sitemap. I usually use the following site:
www(dot)xml-sitemaps(dot)com/, this will inform Google of the existence of all of the pages within your domain
