Checking if a Blog is do-follow ?

    Hello.

    I've just been wondering about it for a long time now. I keep checking Page-Sources using my Firefox but for many months now, I haven't found any Do-Follow page.

    So I'm now in a puzzle that the way I check for Do-Follow blogs is right or wrong. I just see a lot of rel="nofollow" tags on a lot of website's pages due to which I presume its a no-follow blog. Is it the right way of checking ? If yes, can someone link me a do-follow page so I can check at-least.

    Also, is it the website's page that is a do-follow or the whole website ?

    If it's a page, this can also be possible that the page is a do-follow while the comments are put in rel="nofollow" tags which could just keep the comments to be nofollow, is it possible ?

    I have one easy method. Instead of search for a work rel="nofollow". You can do it easily.
    Just place cursor over a link and right click and navigate to Property. It will show all the information about the link if rel attribute is set with nofollow then it will show
    like below
    Address: url
    Will Open in: same window
    Relation: nofollow

    All I see in IE properties is,

    -> Protocol
    -> Type
    -> Address

    In firefox, there's no Properties button.

    Some other way please.

    You can find out by looking at the source code of the page and check to see if there are "nofollow" tags present. Here are 4 do-follow blogs which you can use to make relevant comments and get backlinks:

    addcommentblog.com Add Comment Blog
    leaveacomment.net Leave a comment blog
    leaveareply.net Leave a reply blog
    leavecomment.net leave comment blog

    I use a firefox plug-in called Quirk SearchStatus that has many useful functions including checking for the no-follow attribute. No follow can be applied all the way down to an individual post level.

    I'll upgrade to Version 4 and see what happens.

    By the way, it's Quirk SearchStatus, not Quick SearchStatus. ;)

    Install the SEOMoz browser to toggle highlighting of No Follow links.

    I think I have 200 bookmarks that I visit and sometimes comment on. Maybe 10 of them are follow, just explore websites in your niche and bookmark them as you can.

    OUCH!!!!

    FireFox 4 broke most of my plug-ins!

    The plug in developers are probably busily working to get their plug-ins fixed. It seems like everything that lived in the bar at the bottom of the FireFox display are broken.Not sure I like this!!

    I found a red high-light at some links using search-status.

    But its very difficult still, you have only some links that are red high-lighted which means its no-follow. But the whole page, lets say the whole post is still unknown as to what it is.

    Hi everyone,

    Heres the fix for the Quirk Firefox plugin running in the new FireFox 4

    If you are running Firefox 4, in the menu bar click View -> Toolbars -> Add-on Bar. If you still can't see it, click Tools -> Add-ons -> SearchStatus -> Preferences and position

    This fixed it for me.

    I would suggest you to use "Yoast" Wordpress SEO pack instead of "All in One SEO Pack". You will have better chance of creating do-follow and no-follow pages/posts. You can easily make comments coming out from your site to be no-follow easily.

    You can use the Search Status plugin for Firefox to check whether a link is no follow or do follow

    Yes, i definitely agree with you, i use SEO Quake, what i do just highlight nofollow. Now i can see it easily when anchor text is strikethrough means it's nofollow.
